I found some garden accessories I liked on the website, corresponded with the proprietor, Brion Sincaglia, by e-mail and phone, and sent a check. Brion cashed the check, but the items never came. Brion wrote back several times saying that the merchandise would ship soon, but now it's several months later and the business phone is disconnected and he doesn't answer e-mails.

This "Tawnya" who responded is actually the wife of the owner. Second...I was not aware, that age 38 is considered "middle aged"...but maybe in this day and age, it is....moving on.
"Tawnya" never once contacted Stephanie's family, to intervene. She met Stephanie's parents once in brief passing, and certainly not long enough to establish any type of connection that would result in the exchange of phone numbers or addresses. Stephanie is very close with her family and any "intervening" by outside people, would have been brought to her attention.
The whole "cyber stalker" allegations are false and laughable....please! Stephanie has enough on her plate than to stalk an age 50+ couple, who's best years are well behind them.
I do know for a fact, that this couple has been sued numerous times for work unperformed, unpaid credit card debt, etc.. They are not the saints that "Tawnya" makes them out to be.

First of all, this "Tawnya" person is actually the wife of the owner. Second of all, I was not aware that age 38 is considered "middle aged", but OK.
"Tawnya", never once contacted my family. She met my parents once and only briefly in passing. Never once did she become aquainted enough with them to collect any contact information such as phone numbers or addresses. I highly doubt that she can even recall their first names. And I never once heard from any concerns from my family that these people called them. Once again, she met my parents one time, for about 5 minutes, and that was the only contact she has had with them.
Thirdly, this allegation of a "Creepy cyber stalker" is laughable. She only wishes that her and her husband were worthy of such attention. I happen to know for a fact that her and her husband have been sued many times for work not performed, unpaid bills, etc...
Unfortunatley, this woman and her husband are aging "has beens", and will say anything. Nonetheless, thankfully for the community, this business is now closed and is no longer cheating people.

Shadow Valley Aquatic Nursery Rebuttal Red Bluff, California
First, the gentleman did get his order. He had moved from Hawaii to Arizona. His package got lost, but it arrived eventually.
Second, they were in business for 2 years after this incident. They decided to call it quit when they economy started tanking, and customers no longer had the discretionary income.
As well as, they were getting older, and having a hard time doing the physical part of the business.
They were and still are, welcome in the community, participating in classes, and speaking at garden clubs. They still have favorite customers that they do work for.
Thirdly, this Stephanie person never had any contact with the nursery. She didn't meet them until a year after the business was closed. She was the acquaintance of an acquaintance, and developed a creepy cyber-stalker-type obsession with them. They had to ask her family to intervene to get her to leave them alone.
She is just a sad and lonely middle aged woman, who needs to do this kind of thing to feel important.
These old folks are good people. I hate to see them insulted like this.

SVAN no longer in business

I know the owner of the now defunct Shadow Valley Aquatic Nursery, and am here to say that the owner, Brion Sincaglia, does indeed have a shady past. For one reason or another, the business was not making any money in it's market area, and went out of business. The whole business was run from the owner's backyard and personal computer.
I am sorry about your experience with this, and am wondering if you ever received your product. I do know that the owner has had many financial difficulties which may have led him to commit some unscrupulous acts.
This should serve as a warning to anyone dealing with a home based business as well as purchasing items from the internet.
