Skyetec Environmental is a company contracted by several insurance companies to review billing as a result of water damage to homes. Skyetec and insurance companies they are working for are engaging in intential fraud by misrepesenting standard pricing and guidelines within the restoration industry, thereby establishing a scam in an effort to deny payment in part or all of a water damage property claim. This is a new scam and many homeowners and restoration companies (our company included) have been impacted by this fraud! Beware customers of Allstste, citzens of Florida and many others!

I agree with your premise in general however you are assuming that all service companies are dishonest. My agreement is with the fact that there is a need in our industry to have a fair appraisal of claim billing however Skyetec does not comply ( although this is their claim ) to industry standards. Our experience in the past with this company is that they intentionally disregard standard published guildlines by the IICRC, standard pricing established by Xactimate and others to negatively affect billing invoices from service providers. We have had several of our reports reviewed by Skytec , all of which we in turned had audited by the IICRC and they determined that Skytec was grossly disregarding standard guidelines and prices in our industry, copies of which were submitted to the State of Florida. Our particular company takes great pride in following industry standards in mitigating loses and we take a zero tolerance with companies like Skytec that in our option fraudulently effects homeowners and service providers.

It's amazing when the victim is identified at a mitigation company who's estimate is being reviewed by a company that uses scientific methods to determine if their estimate is within the scope of reality. Some, so-called mitigation companies that have sprung up recently have nothing more in mind except how much money they can extract from insurance companies for a job that requires much less. No wonder insurance companies have looked for ways to halt the price gouging of these mitigation companies. Skyetec uses tried and tested scientific methods to determine what equipment is needed to completely dry a structure to prevent mold growth and further structural damage to a home or business. Pricing is gaged by using industry standards gathered from an array of other mitigation companies engaged in the business of drying out structures. When a bill is presented to an insurance company by any mitigation company it is sent to Skyetec to analyze to see if it is a fair representation of work that was needed and if the pricing is fair. The companies that charge normal pricing and use "necessary" equipment, rarely hear from the insurance companies about their bills. The ones who inflate their bills by charging inflated rates and using so much equipment that the electric companies should be complaining about the power drain on their system at that particular job site are the ones who complain about "a scam" between insurance companies and engineers. I applaud the efforts of any insurance company that is looking after our dollars in trying to keep these shady companies from bilking us out of our hard earned money. I, for one, am tired of paying high premiums because of fraud and excess charges by anyone.
