We understand that Southland does not employ the contractors they reconmend, however we do feel that they have moral obligation to take a complaint seriously especially when one of their customers has incurred a substantial loss.  All that we have asked is that this contractor be removed from your list of 2-10 approved builders to prevent this from happening to some other unsuspecting person in the future.

As far as this builder completing the project??  That is false, there has been no contact from the builder, it is up to the court / legal system from here...

Southland Log Homes contracts with customers to provide them with log home designs and material packages.  We also provide a list of log home builders who we believe have the capability of building a quality log home.  As we are careful to inform our customers, it is their decision to determine the builder that they want to use, and to negotiate and contract with, for the construction of their log home.  The builders do not work for Southland; they are independent businesses that we do not control. 

In the case of this customer, we understand that a scheduling conflict prevented the initial subcontractor from starting the work.  It is our understanding that the customer’s builder has every intention of completing the project.
