Southland Log Homes/Tracy Winters Tracy Winters Log Cabin being built for over 2 Years and Not Completed. Have received 2 Liens from Subcontractors Bryceville Florida

November 2014 - We obtained a contract with Tracy Winters to build a log cabin for our family in Bryceville, FL.  Mr. Winters was highly recommended by Southland Log Homes.  Mr. Winters promised to have the Log Cabin built by April 2015.  We paid Mr. Winters a $41,000 deposit.  The total cost of the home is estimated at $200,000.  As of today, February 27, 2016, it is still not completed and our family has received 2 liens from subcontractors.

April 5, 2015 - We contacted Mr. Winters about the status of the Log Cabin.  Mr. Winters had the logs delivered for the home before December 2014, and left the logs uncovered on the ground. When we called him, Mr. Winters stated he had been on vacation.  The foundation was stilled not poured.  We learned from the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board that Mr. Winters had been fined in the past:  Case # 2007-050572.  We wrote to BuildZoom and Tracy Winters disputed the complaint and BuildZoom removed it from their postings.  As of February 27, 2016, we have recontacted BuildZoom and forwarded them documentation.

Every time we contact Mr. Winters he has an excuse for why things are the way they are, in other words not completed.  He frequently contacts us and begs us to overnight him a check so he can make payroll.

For the cabinets and the flooring we paid the subcontractors directly.  We can't trust Mr. Winters with our money and to get the job done timely and correctly.  There are now problems with the flashing around the windows.

Southland Log Homes appears to be appalled that Mr. Winters is not performing but has done very little or nothing to motivate him to get the log cabin finished.  After reading this website, it appears Southland Log Homes is in cahoots with incompetent, dishonest builders.
