I hope enough people complain so this stops!! I rec'd the call promising me $500 shopping spree and an international calling card as well as a Family Fun Pack for only $4.95 shipping and handling.

I rec'd nothing in the mail, but on my bank statement I saw that $149.90 was taken out. Good thing I check my bank account almost daily on the internet. I contacted the bank immediately, and requested to stop payment and send the check back unauthorized. The bank says I will get my money back.

I called the customer service for Star Communications # 1-800-357-9258 and told them I didn't receive anything, and they said that it was mailed and they could mail me another one. I told them no and I wanted my $ back. There was nothing they could do!! I also called the # for Family Fun 1-800-357-9238 and he couldn't do anything either.

I asked to hear the recording of my initial conversation, which I was able to. In it I told them it said I had a 10 day free trial period, but no materials came so how could I have a free trial. I paid for something I haven't rec'd. I argued with the operator and a supervisor. I asked for the company name and address and search the internet. I was shocked at how many people this has happened to.

I called the number back after I hung up on the second phone call. The call wouldn't go through. It was giving a fax sound, or nothing at all. I had someone else call from their phone, and the call went through. I informed the person "with a strong india accent" that I saw on the internet that the company was a scam, and we, too argued. I cancelled and contacted my bank, and then filed this report.

PLEASE READ THE REBUTTAL UNDER the report made on 9/29/2005 2:26:37 AM. It's from an employee of the "so called" company. I would like to e-mail her, however I couldn't find her address. These people are from INDIA!!! My children's pediatrician is from India and still visits regularly and I am telling him about this. He will not be happy. He even volunteered two weeks of his time to help with the Tsunami aftermath. He is proud of his country, but this scam is a definite disgrace!!!

I will be contacting the local law enforcement, and state's attorney, the local media (tv and newspaper) to make sure this is publicized!!

Please take the time to read everyone's report!!! Be very VOCAL, and file all the reports you can!!!
