TLG*GREATFN - Great Fun - Affinion Group Unauthorized and fraudulent credit card charge Norwalk, Connecticut
*Author of original report: TLG*GREATFN promises to refund and credit charges
A company identified as "TLG*GREATFN" made unauthorized and fraudulent charges against my credit card. An internet search revealed that others also have been inappropriately charged - and over a period of several years. How can we stop such charges, put this company out of business, and encourage the judicial system to sentence its officers to prison?

TLG*GREATFN promises to refund and credit charges
AUTHOR: Searching for honesty - (U.S.A.)

I phoned the company, talked with a representative, got some run-around, then asked for a supervisor who promised that the charges about which I complained would be credited back to my charge card. "Search for honesty" paid off, and I appreciate the company's fast action (pending seeing the credit on my bill, of course.) Nevertheless, I still do not like one company allowing links on its web site to other web sites that lead to this kind of confusion. I always check my charge statements item by item, but I wonder how many trusting souls are duped, how many people not adept in caring for their finances do not notice charges or do not know how to demand corrections and end up paying such charges.
A good rule: Always check statements item by item and compare with receipts. When discrepancies are noted call the credit card company AND the company making the charge and demand corrections in a timely manner. If satisfaction is not received, notify the Better Business Bureau and the state Attorney General. Further, always read the fine print and do not click on any strange links or buttons.
