Just read that the NY Attorney General is going after (3) different NY based scam companies that were charging people money to take security guard classes with assurances they would get jobs, then they never had any jobs or even tried to help them find jobs. The way the operations worked is exactly as you described. Same scam, different scam company name. File with the NY AG immediately!

NEVER pay for a job!

Do NOT ever pay for a job! You are the one who is suppose to be getting paid! When a company comes at you, asking for any money, that right there should tell you its utter BS and to have nothing to do with it. People are so desperate for a job though, they put their faith on the line and fork over money they really can't afford to part with it. Try filing with the Consumer Protection Division of your Attorney General's office. If they get enough complaints, they will shut them down.
