1. Purchased Whole foods flavored mineral water (NON ORGANIC) was tampered with or, opened tasted terrible got a little ill. I
purchased a bag organic apples I noticed mold or some weird plague on the organic apples I purchased (see picture} I wonder if that god awful apples disease falls under the certified organic designation. The highest prices would warranta much higher degree of food quality, employees, and management. There is still two really good employees who work in this location. This Whole Foods has an astronomically high employee turnover rate as I have noticed most of the people who worked their one year ago are no longer there.

Spoiled produce

AUTHOR: Colman - (Chicago)

POSTED: Monday, July 06, 2015

Whole Foods does have a high turnover rate. The manager/bullies who threatened and character assassinated me at the local store are long gone. Perhaps one of them is the guy who gave the spiteful rebuttal.

In the past, American grown tree fruit like nectarines, peaches, pears, and plumbs ripened naturally within days after being taken home. This was mostly because of their enzymes. As a direct result of current commercial practices like irradiation which destroys enzymes and bioactivity, tree fruit can be stored for months and shipped long distances without spoiling. Some apples are stored for a year in cold storage facilities before they are sold to the public.

Modern tree fruit sold in most cities around the USA look marvelous in the store and will stay unripe for weeks after a purchase. The produce displays in most commercial stores are works of art. Nevertheless, their tree fruit usually does not ripen, but instead suddenly turns black, molded, and/or inedible. This is happening in most corporate run stores in the USA, including Whole Foods.

A couple defects?

AUTHOR: sillyrob - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, November 30, 2012

One bottle of water that you claim made you feel ill (doctor's visit backing that up?) and an apple that, God forbid, molded because it's a living thing made out of organic material, and suddenly an entire company is a rip-off?

Maybe you should have just returned them like everyone else does and gone along your merry little way.
