Tommy Logan - Southwyck Kennel Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel breach of contract! Memphis Tennessee

In September of 2007, Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel in Memphis, TN purchased a Toy Poodle puppy from a breeder in Nebraska. Rather than to pay to have the puppy shipped, Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel contracted me to board his puppy for $1.00 per day, which is very inexpensive by any standards. He also agreed to pay any and all veterinarian expenses. He did pay for the puppy's rabies shot and worming and boarding through December of 2007.

Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel told me to have the puppys retained baby teeth removed by my vet., which I did. Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel has still not reimbursed me for this bill. Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel also agreed to pay me $25.00 per weekend to take his dog to AKC shows. This dog is a beautiful conformation dog, but will not walk in the show ring. I worked and worked and took this dog to numerous shows to acclimate him.

After being told by several very reputable breeder/owner/handlers that the dog may never come out of this stubbornness, I contacted Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel to send the dog home to Tommy. Since the dog had never walked in the show ring, I have never billed Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel the $25.00 per weekend he agreed to pay me.

Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel then emailed me stating that he had heard from show people that had seen the dog that I was excellent at coat care and maintenance and wanted me to put the dog in an adult show clip because he would show the dog himself. I was to return the dog to the breeder to take to the airport on March 29, 2008. Several days prior to that day, Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel emailed me telling me not to take the dog to the breeder but rather, try to find someone to buy the dog. I emailed him stating I would try and sent him a bill for the boarding bill accumulated to March 29th, 2008 and for the vet. bill of the baby teeth extraction.

Upon returning from the Wichita shows, I emailed Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel stating that I had found a buyer for his dog and asking if he had gotten my bill, as I had not seen payment. I received an email back stating that he would not pay me what he owed me and he no longer wanted the dog. Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel abandoned his dog and refused to send his AKC registration papers. I emailed Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel and informed him that even though he abandoned his dog, he still owed me for the agreed upon charges incurred through March 29, 2008.

Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel refused payment, now stating that I had ruined a good dog. I have photos of the dog from the time he was placed in my care as well as the dog in his current condition, which I assure you is immaculate. I have also leash trained, table trained, crate trained, groomed and housebroke this dog at no extra charge.

After Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel refused to pay me and abandoned his dog, I did a google search on Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel and found that he has several complaints against him for unethical breeding practices and refusing to honor his health guarantee on puppies he has sold with congenital defects. Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel also has ads online selling Toy Poodles, shih-tzus, English Toy Spaniels, Chihuahuas and Pekinese. In my opinion, Tommy Logan is a puppy mill.

Tommy Logan of Southwyck Kennel agreed to all the above mentioned expenses and is in breach of contract.
