I bought their 8 volt cordless drill from a local retailer. The recharger unit went out about a month after I bought it. I called them thinking the warrenty would cover the product. It only covered the drill its self not the battery or the charging unit. I purchased a new charger at full cost plus shipping from them. I was stuck, what good was the drill with out the battery charging unit. It crapped out in a couple of months too. They refused to do anything about it. They just offered to sell me another charging unit. Buffalo tools cordless products should be called throw away tools. Once the battery looses a charge you may as well throw them away.

First of all, Buffalo Tools does not make an 8 Volt cordless drill, nobody does. Cordless Drills come in increments of 1.2V, usually starting at 4.8V or 6V. Buffalo DOES however make a 12V, 18V and a 19.2V drill. I assume the lady is talking about an 18V drill.

Buffalos procedure when a consumer calls, is to first verify that the consumer still has the receipt that indicates when the tool was bought. Obviously this lady did not have the receipt otherwise Buffalo would have sent her a free charger. I work at Buffalo Tools and have for over 25 years and that has been the procedure since day 1. If you buy something from a retail store and it doesnt work, you normally cannot call the manufacturer and expect them to send you something free unless you can prove you actually a. have the unit, and or b. it is still under warranty. This lady could not prove she had a valid receipt so she was charged for the charger, and the cost to send it to her.

IF the new charger still didnt work, the policy at Buffalo Tools is that we request the old charger back so we can make sure it isnt just someone trying to get free chargers, and to verify that the charger indeed doesnt work. Its amazing how many times we get product back and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. So, if indeed the first replacement charger was defective, Buffalo would have asked her to send it back, and then after verifying that it indeed was a defective, BUffalo would have sent her either a brand new drill (for the hassles in going through this) or would have sent her a new charger (after testing it) with no fees for postage.

Buffalo Tools has been around for almost 50 years. A company that produces shoddy merchandise and has poor customer service will not last that long.
