If you get hurt or injured, if you go on workers comp/! And are off work! They let you come back to work but they give you an incentive lost bill , that saids the you were at fault, and that you have to pay back the total amount that the workers compensation pay you , for getting injured at the job! They take it from the safety insenstive that they pay you...if you do not agree to the insentive lost they threat to fire you on the spot! They always say hat hey can do whatever they want. If you damage trucks or damage freight, the costumers will file a claim for the damages, and then they always fine a way to put it on the drivers, so they can take the incentive, so don't be surprised if the drivers are actually paying for your freight, they never want to put any claims on there cargo insurance, or the truck insurance, they never report any accident to the insurance, they always pay out off pocket, and charge the drivers for everything. ... they don't even do a proper investigation on accidents! No overtime is pay, when they give lunch, they don't let you leave the truck unattended, if you do the make you responsible for whatever happens to the trucks, including and tickets, damages, or lost. . They also give you late lunch breaks, usually after 7hrs.. on a 12hr shift, some time no lunch, they never pay for no lunch taken , they still take 30mi.. of the hrs. . You work. ..

Are you working more than 40 hours a week? If you are working more than 40, and the hours in excess of 40 are not being paid at time and a half you need to contact your state labor board. It is mandated by law that any time in excess of 40 hours must be at the overtime rate. Being called in to work does not entitle you to overtime pay unless you are going over 40 hours in a week.
Working longer than 8 hours in a day does not entitle you to overtime pay unless you are going over 40 hours in a week. Your contract with your employer will dictate the "safety pay" that you get. There's no federal regulation of this sort of shift differential. I would have to look at your state laws, but a 30 minute lunch break on an 8-12 hour shift if perfectly legal and normal. Where I work a 30 min lunch on a 12 hour shift is what everyone gets.
