Car City of Utah Falsified safety inspection to pass an unsafe vehicle and put us in a dangerous situation Salt Lake City, Utah

This dealership falsified a safety inspection-putting us into an unsafe vehicle that never would have passed. We took the vehicle back twice to them to fix the repairs and each time they claimed they did the repair when if fact they had not. Finally, when we went in to negotiate the cost of repairs we had another place do and to try and get them to reimbursement our cost-they tried to repose the car-claiming we had not paid when infact we had, then we ended up having to hand over another $500 to them to get them to take the car off the tow truck.

I cannot agree with you more about them falsifying safety inspections. I purchased a car and we are still trying to get them to fix the issues that were supposed to be resolved before we picked up the car. Luckily I have them in writing and am getting to the point where it's about time to lawyer up. I feel that they are just pocketing the "safety inspections" money and doing nothing whatsoever. They even tried to tell me that inspections doesn't check for broken windshield wipers and burnt out tail lights. I have had to drive up there at least 4 times now for the same 2 issues and it still has not been resolved. They always say let me get your name and number and we will call you back. So far it has never happened, I have been the one that has always had to call them and then its like pulling teeth to get any info. Send in a letter to the BBB like I did that or lawyer up and take them to court. Now I know why so many people don't deal with the local small dealers. Next car will be with a real dealership so I don't have to go through this crap again.
