Carmelita's is located in downtown Roseville, near the railroad switching yards and across the street from a St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen. This combination makes for a terrible dining experience, as if you're actually in the soup kitchen itself. The service is terrible, the food is terrible, and the view is drastically bad. A terrible place to eat.

It's not just the Roseville Carmelita's, it's both of them

There's another Carmelita's owned by the same people, that's not in Roseville, which is a pretty seedy city. There's another Carmelita's in Fair Oaks, at 4071 Howard Street, tel. (916) 961-3327. The persons run these restaurants deceptively, offering inferior service and repast. The seamy Roseville setting follows this restaurant to nicer parts of the
Sacramento area. It's as if you can still hear the trains and the hobos from Roseville all the way to the Fair Oaks restaurant. Remember the Antelope Southern Pacific explosions in 7/73? It's like there's still smoke and cinders in Carmelita's tacos.

I respect the fact that you should be able to eat anywhere you want and get good service.
But Darlin', look at the facts, ITS ACCROSS FROM A SOUP KITCHEN!!
These are not located in the best parts of the city, the clientiel is not the best.
Was this a good idea from the start?
