I went to Colonial Car Wash for a basic wash. When I asked the attendant for a pair of pliers so that I could remove my antenna, the attendant walked over to my truck and broke off my antenna. He then handed it to me as if nothing happened. I asked to speak to the manager and the attendant just turned his back to me and walked away. I finally made contact with the manager who told me there was nothing he could do. When I asked to speak with someone else the manager gave me the owner's card, Chris Harrison. On the card was a false address, false phone number and false web address. I had my attorney write a letter and have still received no response.

E-Mailed response from Colonial Car Wash

AUTHOR: Pjb03d - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 30, 2012

My attorney was e-mailed a response from Colonial Car Wash hours after I put a report on Ripoff Report:

From:
Date: May 30, 2012 6:47:22 PM EDT
To:
Subject: Mr. Biel

Dear Mr. Farrell,

I am sorry to hear that Mr. Biel had an unfavorable experience at my car wash. My understanding of this matter was that Mr. Biel decided to remove his antenna at the entrance of our carwash on the conveyor. This is not a place for our guests to be getting out of their cars for safety reasons. He commented that he wanted to remove his antenna so as my customer attendants do all day long he attempted to remove the antenna for him. The antenna was obviously brittle and with a turn of the tool the antenna broke off. I truly don't believe that my attendant maliciously broke the antenna. It would have probably broke in Mr Biel's hands as well.

I feel that we are not responsible for this and will not compensate.

If Mr Biel is interested in returning to the the wash, I would be glad to give him a $50 gift certificate to maintain a relationship with him. Please let me know if he would like this and I will make sure that it is waiting for him when he arrives.

Sincerely,

Carmelo Cunsolo, Pres.

The president on the business card that was given to me was Chris Harrison, not Carmelo Cunsolo. The card also has an inaccurate web address and phone number no one answers. Also, Toyota quoted me nearly $300 to completely redo my antenna because of the damage done. Even though they admit that their employee broke the antenna, their reasoning for not compensating is because it MAY have happened to me if I tried to remove it. I have no interest in returning to this car wash.
