Credit First Financial charged a fee of $995.00 to negotiate with my debt collectors to lower my interest rate. When I realized that this was not a good idea (after I had given ALL my personal information out) I tried to stop it and tell them i did not require there services. I could not it was already charged to my credit card. I then tried to call them back at 877-469-3461 and of coarse the number had been disconnected. so I tried there web site www.lowermyinteresttoday.com
and no such site.

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THIS "OFFER"?

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 27, 2009

Was it a telemarketing call? Started with a recorded message?

There is a KNOWN telemarketing scam about lowering interest rates.
The purpose IS NOT TO LOWER YOUR INTEREST rates at all, but to steal as much money from you as they possibly can and identity theft.

from 800notes - a website that you can use to check those unknown numbers on your caller id.. Look under Articles on this site for other KNOWN SCAMS

Offers to Lower Your Interest Rates: The calls begin with a recording that makes a tempting offer to lower your credit-card interest rates. Then you are switched to a live agent who collects from you the credit card number and its expiration, name, address, and in some cases even your social security number. The telemarketers have no intention of giving consumers better interest rates on their cards and instead use the information to commit identity theft and run up unwanted charges.
Again, tracing these scam artists is difficult: they spoof the caller ID information and use numerous VOIP accounts set up using stolen credit cards. The best thing to do is hang up, report the call to FTC and warn others through 800notes.com.
