It’s odd that you would approve the estimate and then complain about the cost. You could have declined the service and paid only $65 for the service call. Why did you evade my question, “Did you request emergency service?”

Why didn’t YOU fix the “simple clogged drain”? Because, as pointed out by a previous commenter, you required the experience of a skilled plumber.

You approved the cost of the service and did not complain about the quality of the work; therefore, you were not ripped off.

The electrician’s service and fee bears no relevance.

 As I said, your plumbers were here for 30 minutes clearing out a simple clogged drain. The charge by any measure was outrageous. Your insults speak a lot about your business.  Several months ago, we had an electrician out (reputable firm in business for many  years in Salisbuty).  He not only fixed the minor problem we had but did several other minor things for us and was here for well over an hour.  The charge was $125.  And yes, he was a licenced electrician.

YOur company gives contractors a bad name by charging exhorbitant charges for simple fixes. 

 Perhaps YOU have forgotten that a plumber is SKILLED LABOR!!!! If YOU don't want to pay for "simple" fixes, then YOU need to learn how to do THIER JOB!!!!! YOU needed a drain cleared. YOU couldn't do it on your own. YOU required SKILLED LABOR to do said job. Skilled labor arrived and did what YOU COULD NOT!!!!! NOT A RIPOFF!!!!! YOU are just too cheap or old to factor REALITY into the equation. EVERYTHING costs money. The ONLY thing free anymore is AIR and SUNLIGHT!! They just haven't found a way to charge for those yet. CRY us all a river because YOU had to pay for something. Its called CAPITOLISM!!!! YOU had the CHOICE to contact whomever YOU wished. YOU CHOSE to contact THAT plumbing company. YOU COULD have gone with a different and cheaper company, BUT YOU DID NOT!!!! So don't sit there and use the web to bash THEM for the CHOICE YOU MADE!!! THAT is what a child does. Are YOU a child? Are YOU NOT an adult??

That is expensive but it was not a rip-off because you authorized the charges and the plumber performed the service at the agreed upon price.
