The report was written by Nadire Atas, who is notorious for writing fraudulent and defamatory internet reports about those, especially lawyers, who she does not like.  Ms. Atas has been the subject of many news stories concerning her fraudulent actions.  See articles here, here, and here for some that have been written about her in the New York Times, the CBC and the Toronto Star.  As well, a Google search of Ms. Atas will disclose similar information.

As a result of her online defamatory activities, Ms. Atas was banned by the Ontario Superior Court from accessing or using the internet - see Caplan v. Atas.

The report is completely false and I did not represent Ms. Atas, nor anyone else, in a case that fits the description given.  I am somewhat surpised that Rip Off Report continues to accept material from Ms. Atas given her notoriety and the fact that the other reports that she filed on your site have been removed.

 I retained David A. Brooker to bring a motion to obtain an amount required to discharge a mortgage. This idiot lawyer took my money and did not bring a motion. He lied to me throughout and eventually , and only on my insistence, scheduled an emergency hearing. David A. Brooker then lied to me about what occurred at the hearing. David A. Brooker made recommendations to the court and obtained orders contrary to my interest. David A. Brooker lied to me and said the Judge made the Order despite his contrary submissions. David A. Brooker is currently the subject of a Law Society of Upper Canada complaint and investigation for professional misconduct.
