Rebuttal concerning bad service & high price

AUTHOR: Jonny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 03, 2008

I know this is from over two years ago, but if this is indeed a real claim against my company then I want to make this right or set the record straight. The customer claims that our company got "soot all over his carpet" and was told that we "would be back to clean it". He claims that we "never got back" to him after repeated calls (every day since the incident) and stated that "no one there cares so i had my carpets cleaned for about $200."

If this is truly the case that our company never got back to the customer after getting soot all over his carpets, never returned his calls, and also did not pay for the necessary carpet cleaning, then we need to make this right. I have no explanation as to why our company would not "get back" to this customer if this incident occurred. The only thing I can say is that it probably did not happen & this might be a false claim, he has the wrong company, or simply feels he paid more than our services are worth to him so he wants to badmouth us. We always have taken care of our customers the handful of times this type of "accident" has happened in our 27 years of business. Sometimes, mistakes happen, but we have always made these mistakes right. When this type of mistake happens (where soot stains occur in house) we schedule a cleaning service right away to remove the stains, or re-imburse the homeowner if they contract their own cleaner.

At D.J. Cross Inc. we have always taken pride in our customer service, professionalism, and integrity. If the customer has evidence of our service @ his home, the soot staining, and the receipt of the carpet cleaning, we will gladly make this right.

As for saying that our fireplace cleaning is "too expensive", that is simply your opinion & is subjective. Compared to many other chimney sweep firms in our service area (and beyond), we charge a competitive price for CSIA certified chimney sweeps. As a matter of fact, there our companies out there with no certifications, qualifications, licensing, insurance, etc. that charge more than we do.

Again if this customer truly did have this horrible experience, please respond to this rebuttal so that we can try to make this right. Even if this is 2 years after the fact.
