Face Value Dental Malcolm Duff I worked for this company and quit due to their very unethical business practices Brisbane Queensland

I started working for Malcolm Duff at Face Value Dental and they seemed to be a decent place to work but over the next few weeks I became horified at the way they'd try to rip off patients as much as they could and double book patients and rush them throug. Other dentists working there told me all the tricks they'd use on patients to trick them into paying more money and that Malcolm Duff who is the owner and is about 70 years old had just bought a new $300 000 car with all the money he would rip off patients. THe dentists hated working their and hated what they had to do to rip off patients.

I'm not a dentist but the other dentists told me that they'd try to get patients to spend thousands of dollars on things that weren't necessary by scaring patients by teling them they'd look old if they didn't get replacement teeth put in and that old fillings would fall out so they had to be replaced or teeth would crack and just anything at all to make money. The longer I worked there the more I would see it hapen. It was disgusting.

The dentists also said they would use words to make patients get fillings done even though there was no cavity in the tooth but the patients would think there was by the words they used.

They would also make all patients get x-rays every time even though they were only needed every two years at the most and they would also talk patients into getting expensive cleaning done which wasn't necessary unless there was some sort of gum disease. They would try to get all patients to do it.

They would also make "specials" up designed to get people in but once they were in they would then find lots of extra things to do to make money out of the patient making it all a big scam.

I approached Malcolm Duff who is the owner about the scams and he told me if I didn't like it I didn't have to work there so I quit.

I write this as a warning to anyone thinking of using this dental practice to be very, very careful and to please make sure you take note of what I have written above as they are very, very slick at what they do and you will end up paying much, much more than you have to. I have worked at many dental practices and have never seen anything like what happens at Face Value Dental.
