Farmington is a horrible place period

AUTHOR: Mary S - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, November 26, 2012

My mother in law was in the Medford facility and these workers that are complaining about Farmington are being truthful. Mom was a private pay patient. While in there she was raped, drugged, placed on such heavy meds that she was forced to live out her life in a wheelchair with an alarm on it in diapers. It is a horrible, awful place to put your loved ones. There was a lovely gentleman that called us (her son ) after mama was raped, and Farmington Medford fired him immediately for exposing the coverup.

At $6,000 a month, it is a house of horrors. They are understaffed, treat their employees like garbage, drug the elders because there isn't enough staff to go around.

I had memorized the door code and would walk in there unannounced and what I witnessed was a semi-circle of vunerable drooling elders strapped into wheelchairs in front of a tv.

This is a hell hole, please keep your beloved parents as far away from Farmington Medford as possible. I will also be posting the chronology of ownership soon, that can be verified by anyone reading this.

I completely side with the employees, I saw it first hand (as a visiting family member) for years. They lie, cover up, don't call the police when a patient is raped, agregiously drug patients to keep them medicated and unable to speak. this facility is as agregious as the fictional movie "One Flew Over the Coo Coo's nest. Please do your research before putting your loved ones in there. Also please research the chain of ownership with the Dept. of Corp to witness for yourselves how many times they continue to change the name of the parent LLC.

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

shame on Farmington

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, October 01, 2010

I'm a former employee of this company and would like to start out by saying that while they do have some caring staff that are good at their jobs, those people don't usually stay long.

The majority of their staff (at least at the gresham location) are illegal immigrants that barely speak English and they are fully aware of the residency status of these employees and have been in trouble for it before.
Also, they are VERY much about the money. I've seen private pay residents receive a higher standard of care vs residents that are on public assistance and they only have the minimum number of those residents as required by law.
They treat it very much like a money making business rather than home for elderly people who are in need of help. It really is disgusting.
I should have ran out of the office when during my interview the administrator came in the human resource office, angry and using foul language regarding another employee, then she proceeded to apologize and state they have "a tendency to be a little unprofessional at times"
That should have been a HUGE red flag however at the time I desperately needed a job and would have made a deal with the devil for an income.
It only took me a short while to realize what an awful mistake it was. They promise a lot of things to residents and their families as far as services offered and activities they claim to do.
I would absolutely not put my relative there. Or anyone for that matter.

disgruntled person with no back bone!

AUTHOR: cynthia - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 30, 2002

I have worked for Farmington for three years. I have been in the healthcare industry for 23 years. I have alot of respect for what Farmington stands for!!!!

It is very obvious that what you have posted is from a disgruntled person with no back bone! There is a procedure to file grievences and I can tell you that Farmington was not given the chance for this particular grievance.

Every person reading what is posted must also know that because it is posted does not mean that it is substantiated and true.

In all my years I have NEVER heard or met a person so under handed in my life!!! This posting is so unfair to all who work hard to give the best care to thier residents and NO ONE who works as hard as caregivers do deserve this!

Our mission is to provide the best care to our residents

AUTHOR: Susan - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 27, 2002

We disagree with the comments posted on your web site. They are not true.

Farmington Square is a business but our people and residents are our family. We treat our residents with respect and dignity and we offer the best care in the industry.

The goal of our company is to provide a sense of involved community with each campus, emphasizing resident independence, self-reliance, sense of purpose and integrity, while providing excellent social, physical and psychological support to those who have special needs.

Over the years many people have encouraged us to expand rapidly with the idea of bringing our private company public. We have never been interested in rapid growth. We have always felt that our top priority should be to provide the highest quality of care to our residents. We have maintained a very modest growth rate of approximately 20% per year (compare this with many of our publicly traded competitors who have expanded at annual growth rates of 100-300%). We have no intention of taking our company public because we feel that in doing so we would have to focus more on satisfying investors than on providing quality care to our residents.

We would like to challenge the person or disgruntled employee that posted these comments about our communities. We have always strived to offer our residents and family members compassion, care, and love.
