You're assuming that, just because someone is told that they are going to be ripped off, that the scammer is absolved of any culpability.

The fact that the reporter was informed of the terms and conditions probably forecloses his right to any legal redress, and it certainly hurts his ability to garner any sympathy.

But it doesn't negate the fact that, if his allegations are true, that your company scammed him.

I know that this concept is hard for some people to grasp. But the mere fact that some people are naive enough to sign up for a ripoff doesn't relieve the perpetrator of his moral culpability, even if it does releive him of legal culpability.

I am an employee of the accused company and know that people feel that they are getting ripped off. However in all actuality all of the iformation regarding said charges and trial periods is given before a customer is ever required to put in their cc number. Also in Big Bold Print in the terms of service it lists our telephone number and the charges that will be billed if people do not cancel before the trial period is up.

But when a customer signs up for our program within minutes of completing the sign up process they are sent emails regarding all of the programs they are signed up with that do include our phone number so they can cancel right away if they don't wish to have these services billed to their cc.
