As a successful businessman, company manager Dave feels is critical to listen to his clients and respond properly. By always putting his customers first, Dave hopes to maintain Florida's Outdoor Adventures as a successful enterprise both now and for many years to come. Florida's Outdoor Adventures is Ripoff Report Verified
Ripoff Report Verified™ .. part of Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation & Customer Satisfaction Program.A program that benefits the consumer, assures them of complete satisfaction and confidence when doing business with a member business..

The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by David and Andy during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward Florida’s Outdoor Adventures.

Florida's Outdoor Adventures is a archery, gun, and dog hunting guide service. They are unique in the sense that they offer wild hunts verses the traditional farm hunt, canned hunt, or high fence hunts. While they are most known for their hog hunts, they also offer game including wild alligator and wild turkey. Tom Walker, owner of Florida's Outdoor Adventures sated the following in regards to his company, " [we] are one of the few in the state that actually hunts in the wild. Most of the preserves put up fences, and they buy animals and put them in. Our focus is we carter to the sportsman that want to come down and experience a real Florida wild hunt."

Leads for Florida's Outdoor Adventures are acquired through many different avenues including sporting goods stores, gun shops, and segments filmed onsite for various outdoor networks. Once a customer signs up for a hunt with Florida's Outdoor Adventures they will experience a unique and warm experience, "we're not fancy we're kind of Ma and Pa, we treat [everyone] like family and friends."

During the onsite interview Dave and Andy was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. They explained that sometimes novice hunters don't see a hog on their trip. Florida's Outdoor Adventure's states clearly on both their website and on paperwork all hunters are required to sign that because the hunt is wild there is no guarantee that they will encounter game. In order to combat this Florida's Outdoor Adventures does everything to ensure the customer has a satisfying experience including, "if [the customer] doesn't see a hog, and we have the time and can facilitate it we always take them charge."

When asked to comment on the complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website they explained that the comments were made by a past client named Eric Scwhartz. During their first interactions on the phone Mr. Scwhartz seemed confused on the policies and amenities that Florida's Outdoor Adventures has to offer, "it was almost like he was taking our policies and several other outfitters polices, like he had gotten confused on websites. He was talking about things we don't even offer." In order to assure that there were no misunderstandings Mr. Walker suggested that they cancel the hunt until Mr. Scwhartz understood exactly what was entailed in his hunting package. However, Mr. Scwhartz insisted, and they proceeded with his scheduled hunting date. Once Mr. Scwhartz arrived at the camp, "they got a great hunt. They killed several hogs." However, at one point in his visit, some members of the hunting party smelled of alcohol, violating Florida's state laws. Mr. Walker, asked Mr. Scwhartz and his party to leave, and at that point, "he threatened my life, he threatened my well-being, and threatened my future of doing business." In regards to the comments made by Mr. Scwhartz, "there is nothing relevant about what he wrote...everything he said was totally fictitious."

Florida's Outdoor Adventures is proud to be a part of Ripoff Reports Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program. Mr. Walker is excited about the opportunity to partner with Ripoff Report to further assure future and current clientele of their dedication to a quality customer experience.

This was a false report loaded with false facts. The poster was very angry because the hunt party was asked to leave for drinking. If we would have allowed them stay we would have been in violation of Florida Law.. Management could have handled things better buy not allowing the hunt to go as long as it did and rescheduled with the clients and explaining they cannot be drinking. Since the incident we have had changes in management and noticed even more satisfied clients.

We have waited for about 3 months before we filed this report, we wanted to be sure we were over the heat

There are a group of us, around 8-12 depending on the year, We are all experienced hunters and have hunted hundreds of clubs over the last 25 years... we are all either retired executives or still employed. This is our once a year blow out and it has always been wonderful, last year was horrible.

We made arrangements with Mr. Walker over the phone, he is quite the gregarious and engaging character during this phase, he will tell you how many thousands of acres he has, how he is a Movie Star and virtually any thing he can make up,.

We agreed upon a two day low fence and one day in his "preserve" we were promised a shot at a animal of 300#'s or more in the preserve...please note, he no longer shows his preserve. There never was one.

We had agreed on a $900 per head rate, for ten hunters. When we arrived he pulled me aside and told me that the hunt was $12,000 not the $9,000 agreed  upon,... and the deposit was writtten for. He was in my face in two seconds letting me know that since only 9 hunters showed up he was going to give us a break and only charge us $10,000. I elected to agree, all of our friends and everyone was alread there and he was already threatening and running his mouth. It wasnt that much, however we should have stopped payment and left.

Mr. Walker sits down and starts filling out papers and telling all of us about the horror stories that he had encountered...he told us that if we were to write anything online about his organization we would be arrested by the State of Florida, he further informed us that stopping any credit card charge was a felony and Florida would issue bench warrants without a defendant to even show.. i listened and said nothing, I am a non-practicing lawyer and it was quite clear that this man was delusional.. he goes on to say that he owns nind law offices, has his own helicopter and is a multimillionare... this all within a few minutes of our first meet... he went on and one about how many animals we would see and how wonderful the "preserved" was...

i had my grandson with me for his first hunt... we went out the first morning.. no thousands of acres... no hundreds of acres... not much of of our guys was able to pull up all of the tract maps in the area and Mr. Walker has nothing,... a few acres here and there.. it would see that most of his animals meander over from protected areas.

Mr. Walker knew this, within a few minutes he has dogs and vehicles out.. WE DO NOT HUNT BEHIND DOGS AND SO STATED. He ran down a few hogs for my grandson and one of our guys who had to leave early.. it wasnt a hunt, it was more like eratication. The guys who went to the "Preserve" were skunked...

The next day we did the same thing... there are were no moving animals and we did everything he said. That afternoon I went with my son and grandson to the "Preserve" to put it mildly, it was a real crap hole.. it was a swamp with some of his exotics running around... from what i saw it sure as hell not much bigger than 20 acres... if that...  there were three blinds... all in horrible conditions with very weak fire lanes... we were there past dark.. we saw one 100# sow who came an went in a couple of seconds.. one could tell that she was over hunted... about an hour later a 75# showed up, my grandson took the only shot and missed...

The morning before we went to the Preserve i was hunting with an old buddy of mine.. they told us where to stand and where to look.. and guess what, Mr. Walker, his dogs and his ATV's drove two right by us... this isnt hunting. It was a joke..

We were all sitting around one of his gourmet meals... MRE's were better. He then decides to tell us how he was the star of American Hoggers, he showed us the trucks, jeeps and ATV's used and told us that it was all a set up.. they put hogs in the cages.. cut them loose and made it look like they were really hunting... kicking our trapped hogs so that dogs could chase them was a joke...

The last morning we were there the last of our hunters went though the Preserve... they saw nothing just like eveyone... Mr. Walker had already left for who knows where and we were with his "guides" We sat down with the one guide and told him how dissapointed we were at all the hype and no reality... he stared and we understood he had a job... evidently he spoke to Mr. Walker wherever he was and relayed the fact that we were far less than happy... about an hour later i recieved a phone call from the missing Mr. Walker... he was mad at us... he said he gave us a special deal and that we didnt know how to hunt and thats why there were no hogs unless he ran them with his dogs... he was unable to provide dogs on the last day... he alleged that we ran them too hard... we never ran anything... he ran them... he just blamed us..

When the last of the preserve hunters showed up around 10 am we decided to meet and discuss the situation... the guide was there... he told us in no uncertain terms that he would be glad to take us where ever we wanted to go, low fence or Preserve... and made it clear that he doubte we would see anything... he was honest.. One of our guys ask told him that we were throught hunting, we were over charged, we were swindled and now we had Mr. Walker an all of his threats... yes, it was a hunt to hell.. We asked the guide how much he usually made, he gave us a number, we paid immediatly...and told him we were done and would be packing an leaving.

Mr.Walker called me up and started screaming and threatening me... i asked him to just let it go, we were leaving and we would contact him in the future.. that really got him going.. i hung up... he later send me a voice mail accusting us of everything but the Vietnam Conflict, he made sure to tell me that if he was around it wouldnt be so pretty...he alleged that he had to pay our guide fees and at that point i hung up and deleted his idiotic rant.

It should be noted that Mr. Walker walks around most of the time with a bluetooth in his ear... everysingle on of his conversations were threatening and contentious... throw this guy off the property, dont let these guys in... the entire world seems to be screwing him around.

When we got back home we did a lot of searching... a number of our party have the ability to get fast answers... Mr. Walker has almost no property and surely none in his name.. we checked all of the holding around where we were and Mr. Walker did not even have hunting leases in the area we were in...

You would not believe all the stories this guy could spew... one of the best was where he was hunting out of his own Helo ( no he doesnt own one in his name or his address) and someone called it in... alas, they sent out a flight of f-16's to take him down... and no, i am not making this up. He had his helo landed with no lights and just went quiet unil the Warplanes were out of the area... he had his pilot drive it back to his home... he provided an address... the house is modest... there is no helo-pad or a hanger to park it in... and he has many more.

He also informed us that one of the "top narco traffickers was trying to kill him" since we are in the business we made some recomendations as to a personal defense weapon... he didnt have a clue... twice during the hunt he told us the bad guy had called him..

We could write volumes on this tragedey... the bottom line is that this is one of the worse places we have ever been and Mr. Walker's personality and bluster killed it all..

My Seven Year old Grandson asked me if he could have another chance at his first hunt... Mr. Walker scared him and even he knew that that nothing that came out of his mouth was true.

There are plenty of good hog hunts... this is not one of them... if it was free we would suggest that you stay away..

The one nice thing was that there was a c+ hotel on the water that we stayed at.. it was being remodled however it was better than most hunting camps and they had a bar and restaurant on the water.

I made friends with a few of the service personell at the hotel.. they were all shooters... they all wanted to know why we would pick this guy... we should have known... we asked one of the guys if we should do our range time on Mr. Walkers range... the one he said he had. We were told that if we used it Mr. Walker would tell us that the noise spooked the game.. they took us over to a real nice public range.... The range that Mr Walker says he has is really a 4'x4' skid leaned against a wall with paper plates stapled on to it. There are no tables or chairs... there is a swamp infrested little pond., the shooters layed in the grass and shot the plates.. about 30-40 yards... all the guys who went prone were insect bit so bad they bled.

In the end Mr. Walker told one of the guide to tell us that the acorns were falling and the hogs were eating then and not going to the feeders... we got two of them together and asked the obvious " do the acorns fall every year?" the answer was yes, why would someone schedule a hunt under those conditions... they both looked at the ground and shuffled thier feet...

Whatever you hear, no matter what propaganda is out there... do your selves a favor and find something else.. this is a true unmitigated rip off...

If there are any questions please feel free to drop us a line at customersevice@venturamunitions..

Good luck, be safe and have a great time... we do have a wonderful sport... dont go near Walkers Fake Follies

We had an AWESOME time and I highly recommend

AUTHOR: 67stang - (USA)

I heard about this post on a forum and I was very disappointed to find out recently that he retired so I guess it really does not matter but I thought I would leave my referral anyway. I am lifelong hunter and have worked as engineer for many years at one of the largest optic companies in the world. We hold large military contracts and supply most of the optics for more than one branch of the military with a full line of civilian optics. In the last seven years we have hunted five times with himand have always been very satisfied. I am sure anyone with half a brain can see there is no truth at all to this very contradictive and hateful post.

First of all his helicopter videos are all over the net and tv, (and I have flown in it) secondly there is absolutely no place in the world were land leases are recorded, so there is no chance this person looked up his leases and that was just a plain silly thing to say. Then the poster even goes on to say he has no land but the poster did do some hunting and get pigs??? And what was with the weird ACORN part?? Every time we hunted with him we had to sign very strict paperwork and we actually did witness someone being escorted from the property without refund a few years ago. We also were told we could not pay our balance with a credit card for out of state check that was a pain but we understand. It was very clearly listed on the website and we have had other places make us do the same.

I even noticed the poster left all the blank space he could after his post on purpose so no one can see any rebuttals then he gave the post a very spam filed title to purposely draw more attention to it. It’s a shame that someone would get online and make such horrible false statements about someone else and it is very obvious to me after reading this post that his stay was terminated early so he made these nasty lies to retaliate.  Not to mention the post just lacks class.

Also his properties have been featured many times on the outdoor shows and I know from experience from shows we have done in the past that they get verified signed site locations released with proof of ownership before they can film on any of them. We have been to at least four of his different properties he had and were happy with them all.

We have successfully takin as a group over the years slots of nice pigs, several gators, one Ram, and at least two Asian buff. A lot of our photos were even on his website. Also many other photos of celebrities and professional athletes. High profile people like that would have been there is anything this poster said is true as you well know.

He did a Fantastic job and I have also stayed at the hotel and met many other very happy clients there that were visiting and having a great time! The sport has lost a great outfit but hopefully we will see more of him on tv in the future! Thank you for reading

#2 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Ventura Munition, Eric Scwhartz hunt ended for be drunk and belligerent

AUTHOR: Dave - (USA)

First allow me to introduce myself, my name Dave and I am the current owner of Florida hog hunts. My partner and I purchased this company right after the Ventura Munitions hunt took place. I just found this article and have spoken with Tom and the 3 other guides that were present on the hunt and of course the truth was much different.

Ventura munition is a small web based ammo company based in Nevada.

This all started with a three day hunt package purchases from Tom over the phone last fall. The man claiming to be the owner of Ventura Munitions “Eric Schwartz” called and booked a 3 day hunt for a party of up to 10 people. They wanted to hunt in both our wild areas and our preserves for hog.

Our guides on had trouble with Mr. Schwartz and his employees on the very first. The entire hunt party arrived smelling of hard alcohol. Keep in mind our guides consist of ex law enforcement, Military and one of them is a safety instructor for the NRA. When the guides attempted to complete our safety orientation and release of liability paperwork the hunt party became unruly to the point they had to call Tom whom was already in route and only minutes away.

When Tom arrived he spoke with the hunt party and immediately decided it was best to ask the party to leave. When he mentioned ending the hunt they asked for a full refund and we denied their request. We do not offer refunds on any hunt packages. When Eric realized no refund was coming he decided to obey the rules and sign our paperwork and remain on the hunt.

After signing and reading our rules we still could not get the hunt party to follow our procedures. They brought what seemed to be “illegal assault weapons” and asked Tom if he would bay some hogs up with dogs so they shoot them with these short barreled guns with very aggressive war ammunition that their company supposedly makes.

The guides at that point had to argue again with the hunt party explaining that this type of hunting was not allowed at our ranch and was way top dangerous for all involved including the dogs. Our guides then offered to do a drive with the dogs to push game safely to them. This strategy paid off and Mr. Schwartz and another member both shot hogs. At the time we had a large portion of their hunt party at our preserve doing some still hunting over bait. Multiple hogs were shot that night but I think only one recovered.

The second morning of their hunt only brought more of the same belligerent behavior from the hunt group and they called several times complaining and harassing Tom. They arrived for the afternoon hunt absolutely reeking of alcohol and several members of the hunt party was to ill to even hunt. Some arrived late 2 of them stayed slumped over on our chairs to hung over to even hunt.

We asked the party if they were intoxicated and they promised that it was residual from the night before. We took the group out again and they wounded more hogs and recovered one. At that point they asked the guides if the could set up the dead hog and test all weapons out on it and without even waiting for us to move the animal somewhere safe several of them open fired on the dead hog sending bullets and brass everywhere. At that point the guides just wanted Eric Schwartz and Ventura Munitions employees to leave.

What really concerns me is the fact that these people represent an ammo company and had some very dangerous ammunition that is not even allowed to the general public. They were drinking and in possession of Military grade weapons and extremely dangerous ammunition that they claimed blew up on contact and all kinds of other types of armor piercing bullets.

After Tom received a phone call from the general manger of the hotel describing more of the type of behavior that we seen at the ranch. Tom and Eric had a heated conversation the 3rd morning of the hunt and at that point Eric Schwartz and the rest of the Ventura Munitions group was not welcome back to the hotel either due to their disruptive behavior there also. Apparently they hotel guest had to call the front desk at 3:00 am for noise complaints. They had returned from the bar and were banging on other guest door and yelling.

The hotel Manager is available anytime at 941-639-1165 and would more then love to verify our story.

What bothers me the most is that they had so many weapons and were drinking the entire time with a 7 year child they brought. In Florida possession of a firearms while intoxicated is a felony. With a child present I am sure that would be additional charges.

We have started a word press Forum on this situation and will list the entire hunt parties names there soon as our web developers finish the domain we are using is

We have also filed a complaint with the Nevada BBB and States Attorneys office and filed a large claims suit against ventura munitions and Eric Schwartz personally.

As far as Eric’s fairy tale of looking into Tom’s assets, Tom as any smart business owner had and still has all property’s listed in secure land trust. Tom is also co-owner of an r-44 helicopter that we have all used many times so this is more ridiculousness and another way for him to slander.

We also had to hear many times the threat of how powerful Eric is and how he had had many issues with other outfitters.

This guy is a scumbag and the company’s bullets wont even effectively kill a hog so the product is about ad worthless and the company. Its people like this that will end gun ownership and hunting for the good sportsman!
