I've been buying Foster Farms whole chickens for years. The last one I bought had a diaper (the absorbant pad inside the plastic package that soaks up liquid) that was about twice as long as any previous one, and thicker. When I took the pad out it was completely full of water/blood. It weighed a great deal more than the previous ones, maybe 3 times as much. Why would they increase the size of the pad? One reason might be to add extra weight so that we have to pay more, instead of draining the chicken properly before packaging. More water weight means more profit. I feel like I've been ripped off!
