I work down the street from this place and have heard a few horror stories.
Mostly, She proports that her puppies are all Legit, but they are indeed puppy mill puppies.
They are often sick, misrepresented as pure bred and home raised when in fact no reputable breeder would EVER sell through or to a store.
Good luck getting papers (which by the way mean NOTHING).

Time to move on

Karyn - As I said earlier I agree and commend your convictions regarding puppy mills, but I believe it is time to move on regarding the attacks on Furry Face Cafe. Maybe you should take the time to visit Furry Face Cafe and see what all of us see. Furry Face Cafe is more than a pet store, they don't just sell puppies and retail items they bring happiness to many families with their loving puppies.
Also, you are in the business of selling to animal owners and I would bet any amount of money that there are many of your customers that purchase from you that have purchased animals from a pet store. I'm sure you don't turn them away!!!!!
Keep up your convictions but lets move on!!!

No REPUTABLE BREEDER would sell their puppies to a "Pet Store" NONE. They want to know who is getting their puppies, what type of environment the puppy is going to and my feeling is, any breeder who lets Joe Blow walk in and buy up all their puppies to resell and be placed in cages with some other breeders puppies who can bring parvo and many other problems with them, is ignorant and is themselves nothing but a puppymill.
Any Reputable breeder has sales contract, spay, nueter contracts. Any breeder (if that is what you want to call them) sells to a pet store is in my opinion, a loser. If you cannot place your puppies in loving, forever homes on your own, then maybe there is more to this story then we know, such as, a bad reputation already and no one will buy from, does not want to spend any advertising money, does not show/handle their dogs in AKC exibits, and who probably do not even use AKC at all but some knock off registry who will not come knocking on their door to do an inspection of their breeding program. Puppymills for sure!
keep up the good word Karyn

no decent breeder would sell their puppies through a store. If it can be proven that NONE of her puppies come from the mid-west or through the Hunte Corporation or a family that produces more than one litter per mom per year, or breeds more than one breed, then I will PUBLISH a printed retraction of my contention in the local paper and post in my store window prominantly above my anti puppy mill posters.
And thanks for stopping by my shop and introducing yourself the other day, that was kinda creepy.

you took the words right out of my mouth Kirk. Not every pet store out there buys from puppy mills and I am so sick of people getting on here running there mouth off when they havent even taken the time to go in to the store and get the facts. I mean did you go to the store and ask to see the puppies papers that are in there being sold??? All you would have to do is get copies and it states on there who the breeder was. You can then do a look up at the usda and see if they have a license to breed and if they have had problems in the past. Most times if they dont have this it means that they dont have mass amounts of dogs that they are breeding unless they are hiding it somehow. I would think that the owner visits the homes theses pups come from since she has to buy them and wouldnt want to buy a pup that will cause her problems in the long run .

Karen, not all puppies come from puppy mills!! Yes I have done my homework regarding these issues and yes there are plenty of bad breaders out there but does that give you the right to drag Furry Face Cafe's name through the mud!! My research regarding Furry Face Cafe has shown that Lorin does extensive research on her breaders before she even thinks about purchasing puppies from them!! After that she has the puppies check completely by a vet to make sure there is nothing wrong with them!! Not only does she have the puppies checked out she has the cleaniest pet store that I have ever been in. I have no interest in visiting or purchasing anything from another pet store other than Furry Face Cafe. I only wish that all pet store owners would treat their puppies with the love and respect that Lorin does!!!
We all have a problem with puppy mills, but the fact is, as I stated above, not all pet stores purchase puppies from puppy mills. Before you jump to conclusions regarding all pet stores maybe you should do some research of your own.

The point is that Puppies from pet stores come from puppy mills. This is NOT about business competition. This is not about a shop that sells products. I repeat This is NOT about business. This is 100% about the peddling of puppies that come from irreputable places. this is 100% about the puppy mill industry and places that keep them in business. I don't have any problem with the furry face selling anything ather than puppies. I have a HUGE problem with the selling of puppies. Please educate yourself (and bring a friend along for the ride) go to stoppuppymills or the humane society of the United States web site, or prisonersofgreed.org see what these places are all about. it is not the sweet puppy that is the end product. it is the DISGUSTING trade and proces that produces them. let your conscience be your guide.

I would ask Karen to show proof of these allegations to the owner as well as to all the happy animal owners that Furry Face's have made since they have been open in the Redlands area. If you have a problem with an animal that was sold to you from Furry Face's why don't you solve the problem with the owner and not run their name through the mud!
I as well as friends and family members have purchased puppies from Furry Faces and have been extremely happy not only with the puppies but also with the owner and their staff!
