#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

GIRLS GONE WACK

AUTHOR: Shaun - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 05, 2004

Ken,

As an ex employee of GIRLS GONE WILD which are known an MANTRA ENTERTAINMENT. You can call 310.981.9000 and ask for "TROY" to get your refund and to STOP your billing to your credit card, however, do this: when you call, the receptionist will ask what the call is regarding, tell her you're applying for a(telemarketing)job you saw on Monster.com-at that point she WILL transfer you to Troy. The receptionist is the GATEKEEPER!! Do not leave a message with her to talk to Troy, he will NEVER call you back! Also most of the people that work ther have the "gift of gab". If all else fails, here's their contact info:

MANTRA ENTERTAINMENT (*NEW LOCATION*)
5757 Century Blvd
L.A.
310.981.9000

*OLD LOCATION*

Mantra Entertainment
1601 Cloverfield BLvd #420
Santa Monica, CA 90404

- I hope this helps you-

Even Better!

AUTHOR: Darren - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 01, 2004

Girls Gone Wild has just agreed to a $1.1M settlement!

http://entertainment.msn.com/news/article.aspx?news=165692

Sure, everyone would like to have more money... but signing up people for a subscription without making it ABSOLUTELY clear isn't the way to do it.

If a company is legitimate... does it need to stoop to tyring to "sucker" people into something? If that is the type of business that we are condoning... then there is something wrong with America.

It is funny, my 13 y.o. son jokes and blames everything on the education system... which to me is funny because I am about to get my teaching license... But maybe he is right.

I don't think that in the past we thought that it was necessary to teach consumer law in high school... but since companies are looking for "suckers" instead of customers... maybe we need to do better to prepare our children against the vultures that are out there taking advantage of those that they can get over on.

Doesn't that make anyone else out there sad?

Read Small Letters!

AUTHOR: Petar - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 30, 2004

Hi,

Next time you purchase something, especially a thing with nice girls on the cover, make sure you look for those small letters on the side.

When you bought a nice TV offer of $10 bucks, if you had read all correct, you would see that you are SUBSCRIBING for a service, and that they would be sending you a DVD at a REGULAR PRICE of $24 bucks when ever a new volume comes out!

Yea, it happened to me the same thing, and I went, read and believed. Just call their 1-800 dumber, tell them you wish to cancel your subscribtion, and after a nice-voice girl tries to keep you as their customer and you say "No more money for you girl", they will cancel your order and you will not be billed any more :)

And do not say - I ordered it for my friend. Say you got it for your self, as we all did :)

Thanks...

Don't lie to the Bank !

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 24, 2004

Telling the bank your card was stolen will cause you more problems they will want a police report most likely and thats a crime. If it is a credit card and not a debit card call the CC company and tell them you didn't autherize these payments and they should take care of it.Just call the bank or CC company up and tell them you want to stop paying that bill that comes up every month. Its your account.

Have you tried calling the company thats sending them to you? What was their response? Plus one other thing if you do that you will have to change all your other accounts you may have that auto deductions if its a debit card. Big pain in the butt.

Try this! call it in as being lost or stolen.

AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 19, 2004

If you can do without the credit card for a week, call it in as being lost or stolen. They will issue you a new card, with a new number. I found this out last year when I lost my wallet, and something I just ordered was frozen. (I got the free gift, though. heh, heh)
