I assisted my 84 year old mother in getting another copy of her birth certificate after she was robbed and needed to replace her DL. When searching for the state website in which she was born, this website came up in the search.

It was not clearly evident that it was not the official state vital records webpage. We filled out the entire application, paid the $59.00 fee. 2 weeks latera packet came inthe mail with a filled out application for a new birth certificate with all of the information we had put into the site already with a request for $45.00 more dollars to send directly to the state vital records department with the paper work.

Essentially, we paid $59 for them to print out the information we typed into their site, thinking we had typed it into the state vital records department directly. Rip Off!!!! I tried to get a refund.

My CC company initially credited me, but this company disputed the charge citing a technicality that we had checked a box agreeing to pay. Of course I did. I thought i was dealing directly with the State of New York! Do not use this service and tell all your friends!
