I was sent a "Final Winning Notice" letter dated June 6,2008 informing me I was one of the declared winners of the NATIONAL LOTTO CO-OPERATION SWEEPSTAKES LOTTERY held on May24th,2008 in the 2nd category. I won $150,000 among 10 others sellected through a random computer ballot system. Enclosed was a check issued from Highland Healthcare,INC.for $4,995.98, followed by instructions to contact Smith Rickman, claim agent. Tax amt. of $2995. to be wired after receiving tax info. from him. I called multiple times day and evening with no answer except for an unavailable answering msg. I thought I would make this public to others before they get scammed.

How To Stop Lottery Rip-off

AUTHOR: Silverfox - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 23, 2008

My wife had just received a similar lottery winning letter mailed from Canada by the Phoenix Co. Inc. of Calhoun, Georgia. Supposedly if she cashed the $4949.78 check and forward $2,996.00 to the Tax Agent she would receive $150,000.00 winnings.

The first thing I asked her was, had she remembered paying for and receiving any lottery tickets from Canada. She replied, No. Then I said chances are this is bogus. She knows that I have had bad luck with these things in my past.

Here are some of my experiences:

1. I had won my State scratch off ticket lottery. Like an idiot, instead of walking it into our local regional lottery office, I mailed the darn thing to the main office 800 miles away. Let's say some civil servant employees were living large until they were caught and jailed. Did I receive compensation? L.O.L!!!! Not on anyone's life!!! (not lottery employees by the way)
2. I joined a Group that used a Lotto Agent in a very large State. There were only 20 Groups. Well our Group WON and I was excited! Net payout was going to be $250,000.00 a piece. Not to shabby for $20 bucks per month! It was on the National News where the receptionist whom was suppose to mail us our claim forms for filing with the State, filled it out in her name and took off with over $2.1 Million. They still haven't found her!!!!
3. Last but not least! I went completely stupid and jumped off the turnip truck head first by using a Lottery Agent for an International Lottery. The Lottery Agent sent copies of my tickets to me and I waited for the monthly drawing. Eyup! You guessed it, I WON AGAIN! $500,000.00 after taxes! I was feel'n good. The Agent sent me papers to sign, Authorized to Act on Behalf and Power of Attorney no it's not what you think. He was legit. He didn't do the dirty thing and take off with my money that way! He was HONORABLE! He sent my winnings check for the amount of $13 dollars after subtracting his $487,000.00 Handling Fee and you know what, I received an invoice for $10 because the paper filing fee had gone up. No I'm not kidding! See! I told ya he was honest about the way he went about SCREWING ME IN THE GROUND!!!!!

Did I file complaints? Eyup! Do you know what they had asked for first? Could I send the ORIGINAL TICKETS! Not copies! Guess who has the Originals?

So here are some rules of engagement when dealing with lottery madness:

1. All Government Lotteries extract taxes first before giving you your Net proceeds so you don't need no stink'n Tax Man.
2. As of this writing, any online lottery purchases are illegal outside of your State. All International lotteries apply as well as neighboring non-affiliate States.
3. You MUST have the original tickets for a valid claim. So if you purchase tickets out of state or out of your country, be sure to have the Original Tickets sent to you via Non-Government Carrier service. If you win, expect trouble from the real Tax Man and US Attorney.
4. Be honest with yourself, if you are notified by mail, email or phone that you've won the lottery. Ask yourself, did you really purchase that ticket? No your cousin, uncle, grand-father, brother-in-law did not buy it for you! Next, do you OWN the tickets in your hands? If not, stop wishing, hoping and/or fantasying a benevolent grunt finally came to your financial rescue. By being HONEST with yourself first, you will avoid a world of hurt, pain and disappointment with human beings.
5. Lastly, never ever pay a cent to anybody in order for you to gain access to funds that are supposedly yours! The only ones that are allowed to rob you that way are banks, check cashing joints and spouses! Everyone else is fraud!

I hope this helps! It has for a friend I made in that debunked Lottery Club. He had won $50k and he had remembered our conversation about my journey to my final enlightenment about lotteries. The result? He and his wife flew to the State Office and filed his claim personally while his wife video taped the entire process.
Needless to say, they had no problems receiving their spoils.

Oh! One more nugget of wisdom. Lottery Pools are not immune either! Remember, whom ever has the Originals wins! Yes, even if you've signed the rooster sheet and have copies of the tickets. The State will still disburse the funds to the Lottery Co-ordinator or Pool Operator if they fib and say he/she are the only owner of those tickets and YOU my dear friend, will be told to SUE the b*****d in Civil Court and bring your Rooster and Copies of the Originals into Court!

My advice to Pool Players is to make sure that the Operator has Real Estate (home). Do Not allow a Renter to be the Pool Operator!!! Be sure that participating in a Pool is legal in your State. If not, you are out of luck with the legal system in your State because your hands are dirty also

For Pool Operators, do not buy additional tickets for yourself only! This applies for your family members as well. This happened to a poor guy whom made a private purchase of a ticket and you've guess it, that ticket won and all the other pool tickets were losers!

Can you guess the hades that arose that day when the pool players were told they lost but by the way the pool operator had the only winning ticket!! LO.L. Well he had to move his family to another city and change jobs. The Judge used the infamous Solomon Wisdom and split the winnings down the middle. (for the legal types in the audience no he did not have copies of the tickets disburse to players nor did he write down how much each player contributed roasted to the max!)

Words of Wisdom: Don't play in pools unless you don't care about the money and always play lotteries with your own money by yourself with the original ticket in your hands. You'll be happier. I know, I know some pools paid off! That's because they had angels in the group. Those are some tall odds to bet on continually!

Good Luck!

You can alert the people until you are blue in the face, and there are still some morons who will fall for it. NO common sense.
