Went to buy 7.5 lbs of catfish nuggets @$1.99 per lb.

At checkout price should have been approx. $15  and I was going to use my Lone Star card(SNAP) for payment.

They said price would be $18.14! When I asked why, they said "sales tax"  I told them there is no sales tax on catfish nuggets and there is no sales tax when the Lone Star card is used. They said it makes no difference. Then I pointed out that they were charging over 20% sales tax.

They had done something similar before and promised to correct situation.

I left without buying anything.

I will be notifying food stamp office,

Deli cooked and ready to eat foods are not elible under SNAP.  There is sales tax on many ready to eat foods like McDonalds or Burger King.  SNAP is supposed to be used for nutrition related foods not ready to eat, fatty fried foods.
