#2 Consumer Suggestion

The check is fake.

This sounds like a classic Nigerian advance fee scam. The lazy scammer just forgot to put in a letter saying you have won a fake lottery and for you to cash the fake check to send him the real money for his fake fees. He will then disappear or maybe try and get more money out of you. You will never see dime form him. Then days sometimes weeks later the original fake check will bounce and you will be stuck owing the money. Consider your self lucky this scam could have cost you allot of money. Rip the check if anyone contacts you about ignore them.

From what I can gather, NFO is a survey site (and hence, listed on a lot of other survey sites), that enters your name in drawings when you finish a survey for them.

The phone number is (800) 537-4097. If you've indeed been involved in doing surveys (??) then this might be a legit check. More information should be provided to you at the number above.

Good Luck, and keep us updated!
