Received collection notice stating I owed $115.60. I have cancelled AOL service over a year ago, and received a cancellation letter at that time stating that I would not be charged. Rep at AOL stated I owed for 4 months, however I do not owe anything at all because I used the service during the free introductory time frame only!

AOL Charge. Contact Attorney

AUTHOR: Ray - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 14, 2006

I have received a letter from NCO Financial Systems as well. The aol charge was for a trial period. Im going to play their game and pay for this charge. However, I will have an attorney verify that all accounts have been closed and all financial obligations have been meet. If they continue to charge me, I may take America Online (aol) to court.

A lot of people assume that AOL will not charge after trial membership. Please do not make this mistake. Have an attorney send a letter to America Online to verify account closure. If may cost a bit more out of pocket. However, you will eventually be in peace.
