Opes Financial Solutions is a corporation put-together by “Rake Murray”, who had his FINRA license revoked in 2010 (and was terminated from WMG) related to DECEPTION AND FRAUD -

Let's see what FINRA has to say about Rake Murray, the OWNER of "Opes Financial Solutions":

The key catalyst incident that resulted in Rake's license being revoked in 2010 is:

California Superior Court Of California (County of Los Angeles) BC445937 (Cole vs. World Group Securities), which is PUBLIC RECORD – happens to have been filed the EXACT MONTH that Rake Murray’s License was REVOKED with FINRA – Would you like to know what the case is about? (or if it mentions "Rake" by name?) Lets see:

BC445937 is a case about a lady by the name of Ms. Cole, who is suing the company that Rake Murray worked for – Here is what she says in her case:

“Senior Marketing Director, Rake Murray, began pressuring Plaintiff COLE to purchase and invest…”

“He promised her that she could access 90% of the money at any time, when no such liquidity was available”

“the so-called ‘lucrative’ job opportunity she was promised was a mere sham”

Interestingly enough, by 2012, when the case had ended, and the company Rake was working for (World Group Securities) or “WMG” (the one sued by Ms. Cole) also got its FINRA license revoked and is no longer in business:

*** The point of all this information is: Opes Financial Solutions is a scam that is run by the principal owner (Rake Murray), who is unlicensed and untrustworthy. Don’t take my word for it – Take FINRA’s (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).

Advice: Don’t work for this joker. Don’t associate with him, or any of his scam operations, which includes Opes Financial Solutions! Rake created Opes the same month that he was TERMINATED from WMG related to that FRAUD case. He opened Opes and is now convincing money-hungry (and ill informed) salesman to scam people (usually their own family and friends) into getting unnecessary financial products so Rake can commission (since he is unlicensed and knows that anyone who does a name search on him will come up with FRAUD ALL OVER THE PLACE! Again - This is not me saying "fraud", this is public record, and even FINRA themselves list "FRAUD". Click on the links, consult the court documents, it's all there for anyone who is diligent enough to do the research.

DETAILED REPORT: Opes Financial Solutions & Rake Murray

AUTHOR: ConsumerProtector - ()

Opes Financial Solutions – A “Rake Murray” Production:

The listed addresses on their website before 2014 were:

625 The City Drive Suite 350

Orange, CA 92868

(They are not listed on the directory of this building)

Also listed a mailing address of: (but changed in 2014)

OPES Financial Solutions, LLC

19051 Goldenwest St. STE 106-409

Huntington Beach, CA 92648

Is this a real building? Because Google doesn’t show much here.

Let’s see what the Internet says about these folks - According to the CorporationWiki website, there is another address for Opes:

This Address for Opes Financial Solutions LLC is listed as:

516 15th St,

Huntington Beach,

CA. 92648

(This is a residential address)

When I research this address on 15th Street, I find out that it is a RESIDENCIAL ADDRESSNot a business address. Secondly, it is most commonly associated with Rami ElGuindy, and appears to also have another company that goes by Opus (with a “u”), called “Opus Management” company associated with that residence also.

According to yet another website:  See Below:

Rake Murray started a company called Impactteam (a company he started in 2007, but folded shortly there after) – Interestingly enough, the address for ImpactTeam does not really exist, but the closest address to it that DOES exist is a well-known address that scammer companies use.  (25152 Springfield Ct) – See Below:

(100 sq ft office space, and no actual people in the office) – So, Rake has a history of being involved with companies that don’t actually exist, and use fake addresses that share fake addresses with other scam companies. Let’s keep this In mind:

 (ImpactTeam – Rake Murray, President)

25152 Springfield Ct Ste 255

Valencia, CA. 91355

The 25152 Springfield address is most commonly associated with Scam Companies online. The directory lists various scam companies that people report online do not actually exist and just rent space there to use as an address. Most of those illegitimate companies have an alternate “mailing address” (like Opes), because they don’t actually go to the office or receive mail there. My research has showed that Rake Murray operates at least 3-4 different small shell-companies that don’t actually exist, including mortgage companies and other finance companies that there is no record on. Some even have addresses that do not exist. It’s as if he has a history of creating phony companies with fake addresses… The address above appears to be a real address (25152), however, It also looks like he likes using various fake addresses in this general area too:

Rake Murray is also listed as a Mortgage Lender using a similar address to the one listed above:

25251 Springfield Ct

Valencia, California, United States

See Below:

This phony  (25251 Springfield) address is repeatedly associated with his name, so there is no accident that he is trying to make people believe that he is legitimate when even his address is not:

 Here it is again:

This address stops in the middle of a Street, and when I tried to verify that the address is valid with the city of Valencia, I could not. It does not appear to be a real address. Almost as if he wants people to believe that’s a real office for mortgage lending or something? Weird. But, again, this area of Valencia is most commonly associated with scamming businesses who use fake addresses to this office building. I think it’s interesting that this also happens to be a couple of digits OFF the other address that he USED to use for his other failed company Impactteam.

So, now I’m suspicious about why Opes has a mailing address that is different than a physical address. (Why would a company do that anyway, unless they are not actually physically at the office they list as “corporate headquarters”) And why is the address listed on the Internet for Opes (516 15th st) in a residence? (as seen below)

Ok, let’s find out more…

Let’s find out the background of this “OPES FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS, LLC”:

First thing Opes points us towards is:

What does this mean? Well, let’s find out... Before any research is even conducted on SEPO, I’m already suspicious: Why doesn’t SEPO use their own name everywhere, like in AZ, CA? Who owns SEPO? Why does SEPO not have a website? What kind of a company is it?

Want to know something else that’s creepy?

Even more suspicious of this “company” now…

California Secretary Of State: No Record of a business called “SEPO Insurance Services, LLC”, or any other company with the word “SEPO” in it at all as a valid business in California. Weird. Take a look yourself: Below, I searched for every variation of “SEPO” I could think of, both under “Corporations” and “LLC’s” in California: See image below:

As you can see, I searched every variation, and here is what I came up with:

Try to find it listed as a business yourself:

SEPO Website: None

SEPO BBB Registration: None

SEPO FINRA Registration: None

SEPO- Other: Nothing other than the link listed above which states"SEPO INSURANCE SERVICES, LLC" MUST BE USED FOR ALL INSURANCE BUSINESS CONDUCTED IN CALIFORNIA.” There is nothing else on the Internet, or listed with California State regarding a company named: SEPO Insurance Services, LLC.

So, that’s the “transparency” that SEPO has provided, now let’s see if we can find Opes in the records for California as a registered business:

Wow, it appears that there are 2 companies with similar sounding names – Could it just be a fluke?

Lets look closer:

Perhaps these are two different unassociated companies, right? But wait! “Opes Financial Services” is listed on “Opes Financial Solutions” website (still).Looks like they were the ones confused (about their name)... But are they still confused? Let’s take a look at the bottom of one of their own webpages on their website so you can get a better look at this discrepancy:

Clearly it says “OPES Financial Services” (repeatedly) and then at the bottom of the page, it says “Copyright 2010 – OPES Financial Solutions”. This is not normal, and not something that should go unnoticed as a typo. This is a sign of an unprofessional, crude business and further proof that there is in fact association between these two companies (solutions/services) being formed. Also, take note in the words being used “market for sale”, not “sale”. So, again, this further solidifies the fact that this is a “Marketing” company, not at all an agency, not a brokerage, not an advisory at all. None of those things. Also, SEPO is not mentioned anywhere on the entire website (not that it really exists anyway). Opes is strictly a marketing company that’s primary job is to sell as much as they can of whatever they can, period. It’s a legalzoom company that is basically a front for a few corrupt people to PRETEND like they are doing something legitimate when they are not. Opes Financial Solutions (or Services), LLC, is just a regular company with NO certifications or Licensure, and is not bound by FINRA regulations (or even Registered), nor is SEPO for that matter. In other words, this is a “front” pyramid-marketing company (as noted on FINRA’s own report) with a few people at the top who stand to benefit from screwing people over this way (as was done in the legal case – later mentioned) Keep reading:

Also, it is worth mentioning that according to California State, and FINRA, nobody associated with “Opes Financial Solutions, LLC” (Raoul Corzo, Rake Murrey, Diana ElGuindy) has the company name “SEPO” listed in his or her Financial History as a previous employer (what so ever). As far as the financial world is concerned, “SEPO Insurance Services, LLC” does not really “physically” exist. And as far as California is concerned, it’s not a valid business either.

According to FINRA (Federal Investments Regulatory Authority), the most recent employer for all three people associated with “Opes” (Raoul, Rake, and Dianna) are: World Group Securities Inc. (Let’s try to remember that according to FEDERAL records, they all worked there until 09/2012 – three months ago). However, in Rake’s case, his registration was terminatd in 09/2010. The entire company they worked for World Group Securities, Inc. lost its registration with FINRA in 02/2012 (at the recommendation of the SEC – related to fraud) – This happens to be the lawsuit Rake Murray is involved in. Let’s look at the characters a little closer:

CORZO         RAOUL          HUMBERTO

California License#: 0A98930

Business Address: 10451 WHITE OAK GRANADA HILLS, CA 91344

Who’s address is this? Not on Opes’ website? The California State Insurance Agency lists THIS as his business address. Not any of Opes’ addresses.

The problem? That address on White Oak is a Residence. Not a business. Here’s a picture:

Arizona Department of Insurance:

AZ License #: 975578

Business Address:      13120 CANTARA ST

City, State, ZIP:         NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA 91605

Business Phone:          (661) 775-0105

Another Address that doesn’t match ANY of Opes’ addresses on their website. Why is this Sr. Executive of Operations at Opes Financial Solutions, LLC, using various addresses for various licenses? Doesn’t he work for Opes? Why isn’t he using Opes’ addresses for his business address?

Guess what? This address in North Hollywood is also a ResidenceNot a business address. Don’t believe me, look at the “house” he calls his business address. Just like the one above in West Granada, Also a home he uses as a “business address”.

Moving along now…

Below is the date Raoul Corzo was authorized to begin selling Insurance in ARIZONA:

Sep 29, 2010

Feb 28, 2014

Sep 29, 2010

Feb 28, 2014

Sep 29, 2010

Feb 28, 2014

Pay attention to the September 29, 2010 DATE. That is the date that Raoul’s license in Arizona became active… This is also the date that Rake Murray’s FINRA registration was terminated, and also the date that Rake Murray was named in a fraud lawsuit at the company they all worked for: World Group Securities, LLC (Which they all worked for as recently as 3 months ago). Let’s keep going…

Back to California Insurance Agency:

This licensee is authorized to transact on behalf of the following:

OPES FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS, LLC   For: Life-Only    Effective: 01/13/2011

OPES FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS, LLC   For: Variable Contracts  Effective: 01/13/2011

As we can see here, California lists Opes as being able to do business effective 01/2011, which is just 4 months after the lawsuit was filed in 09/2010, and 4 months after Rake’s registration with FINRA was terminated 09/2010. This company has barely been in-business. It also seems to be a knee-jerk reaction to a lawsuit that may have resulted in termination (it definitely resulted in Rake losing his FINRA registration) Let’s keep this “September, 2010” date in mind as we move forward…

What does FINRA have to say about his Financial Record as someone registered with them? Let’s find out what they have to say about Raoul first:

First of all, let’s look at his current employing firm “Avalon”. It says he works as a Broker for Avalon Securities – Pay attention to the IA (Investment Advisor) title – it says he is not IA registered as of 10/2010: His work history details the following:

Notice that SEPO isn’t on his Employement History (unless you want to read Opes backwards?).

Also notice that everything all of the sudden ends on 10/2010. And his work with Avalon just started 2 months ago. Also notice he is listed as the “SR Executive VP Operations” of Opes Financial Solutions, LLC. Which is titled a “Marketing Group – For Life Insurance”. Again, not a broker, not an agency, just a “sales and marketing” group. Not even a financial company at all.

Also, what the hell is K-SKI Electric? He currently works there too? Okaaaaay! Quick research tells me that K-SKI Electric has no website, and that the owner of THAT company is actually looking for a job (according to the internet):

What’s that about?

Moving along, let’s see what Raoul was up to in his most recent (somewhat legitimate) job before his “Opes” venture:

Oh goodness. It appears that Raoul is promising people that 90% liquidity lie. Oah, and it seems to be happening systematically at “World Group Securities, INC.” – Lets remember that.

Let’s see what else is there, shall we:

Surely this is a mistake? Could such an awesome business man, and “financial planning wiz” get into such troubles as to have to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy!?

Too busy helping others (or lying about life insurance products I should say – according to FINRA) that he “incurred too many debts. And was unable to sustain lifestyle”. Where do I sign up to get involved in a business with this great mind? He must be a financial genius! Oah please Mr. Bankruptcy! Give me Financial Advice! Let me join your business! (?) Really?

Let’s dive into our next Character:

“Rake the Fake” as I have come to call him.

National Producer Number: 2632078

According to FINRA’s Records, we know the following about Rake:

Please Note:

  • Under “Other Business Activities” – It lists Rake Murray as the “Owner” of “Opes Financial Solutions, LLC”, gives a 625 The City Drive, Orange, CA. 92868, and says it is a “Marketing Group” for life insurance. It is not a brokerage, not an agency, not an advisory. A “group”. A “marketing group”. Doesn’t matter if it’s for life insurance or car insurance or real estate or tires or baby food – it’s not an agency, and not a brokerage.
  • Employment Dates: Ended work with World Group in September, 2012? Didn’t you guys know him then (just 3 months ago)? In any case, keep in mind that he was working with World Group Securities, INC. immediately prior to starting Opes. This is important.
  • Rake’s Registration with World Group Securities ended on 09/2010, yet, he claims to have continued to be employed by them for two more years, up to 09/2012. This is a discrepancy. However, if it is not a discrepancy, then one can only assume that his “registration” was pulled from him in 2010, but that he continued to work there… Hmm… Now why might/could that be?
  • Another thing to note: Opes is not listed as a registered broker with FINRA. The work history part is separated into “registered” and “work history”. Note that his registration ended in 2010 with FINRA, and that was also the lawsuit date. Note that Opes is not registered, and listed only as ”Marketing” group.
  • Something else to consider: It was just as the 09/2010 lawsuits started that Raoul decided to license in AZ (09/2010) and a few weeks after that Rake decided to renew his AZ license. See Rakes AZ Insurance info below:

First Issued

Last Renewed

Dec 8, 2004

Nov 5, 2010

Jun 30, 2014

Dec 8, 2004

Nov 5, 2010

Jun 30, 2014

As you can see, shortly after his registration was pulled by FINRA, he decided to renew his license to sell life insurance in AZ.

Current Employment: By reading the FINRA employment history on Rake (listed previously) it shows that currently (as of 3 months ago), Rake works at Avalon Investment & Securities Group, Inc., which is located in Alabama. As far as FINRA is concerned, there is only 1 company listed here under current registrations (current companies he’s allowed to represent). Hence, the “Employment 1 of 1” title (below).

It is worth noting that his previous job before supposedly working at Opes (or Avalon) was with World Group Securities, Inc. (Just like Raoul) – Let’s NOT forget that. Also worth noting… There is no mention of SEPO anywhere on this work-history, even the work-history that he supplies himself! But, I honestly after all this, I wasn’t really expecting it – were you?

Lets continue looking at Rake’s most recent venture (3 months ago) in becoming a “rep” for this Avalon Company in Alabama:

He’s acting as a REP for this company as of September 25, 2012?

Any reason why he would need to be a rep elsewhere when his company is doing so well? Also, why isn’t OPES registered with Avalon? Notice that he himself works for them. Not Opes.

Here’s more proof he just took a job (at the same time he created Opes?)  working for this "Avalon" company:

Let’s dig in more and see what else his FINRA record tells us that he isn’t telling us, and that isn’t listed on his Opes Website (or anything else)… Basically, let’s see why Rake & Raoul are not listing themselves on the Opes Website. Why are they hiding themselves from being easily tracked to Opes? Let’s find out! We already found out that Raoul has misrepresentation of life insurance, and a chapter 7 bankruptcy he is hiding. Let’s see what Rake is hiding:

FINRA Disclosure Events: Rake Murray

Looks like Rake faced various and repeated charges of misrepresentation, forgery, and fraud: Let’s dive right in:

Above, please note the name of this most recent issue is with the company WORLD GROUP SECURITIES, Inc., also please note that the exact case listed above which mentions Rake Murray in the “factual background of the arbitration” is what led to his FINRA registration being terminated, and World Group’s License being taken away as well.

Let’s keep going:

WORLD GROUP SECURITIES, Inc. is the company that Rake worked for immediately before opening the company Opes Financial Solutions, LLC. Let’s find out about this court case and what it says about Rake Murray, shall we?

Of course, nothing is free these days, so I had to go online and pay the California State Superior Court for the records I needed - next page is the purchases I made through the LA County Courts

Legal Case # BC445937 – Superior Court of California – County of Los Angeles

Case Intro: I will briefly introduce the Plaintiffs to give context to the excerpts I have taken from the Court Case. I am doing so to give some basic information, which you can find out by reading the entire 20 page ($8) complaint if you like, I will be attaching full copies of everything I researched (and purchased) to conduct this research.

Just including the Cover Page so you can see the official complaint. I’d also like you to note that the date this was filed was 09/20/2010. This also happens to be the month that Rake Murray’s registration with World Group Securities, INC. is terminated - 09/2010. Also the time-frame that he chooses to renew his license in Arizona, and also the time frame that Raoul gets his AZ license. (see his employment history above) The stamp above tells me that as soon as the case started in September, 2010, FINRA (through the company WGS, Inc.) decided to terminate Rake’s registration as an advisor/representative. The dates line up perfectly (court date matches the registration termination date), and it makes sense for FINRA and the company to do that after seeing the nature of the complaint. Let’s take a look:

 – Now the Factual Background:

Let’s make note on #12: Marketing Director: Rake Murray is listed as the vehicle used to commit these allegations… “Through their agent, Jeff Larson and their Senior Marketing Director, Rake  Murray, began pressuring Plaintiff COLE to purchase and invest…” Rake is the Marketing Manager that trained this “Larson” character, and was personally involved in this case. This case also evidences Rake Murray at the head of this “marketing” scheme/tactic as the Sr. Marketing Director at World Group Securities, LLC… Read on to find about the false guarantees that Rake and his “trainee” went on to give…

Little context:

Plaintiff #1 is an old lady named Mrs. COLE.

Plaintiff #2 is Mrs. COLE’s daughter in-law, Mrs. KAISER-COLE

  • Just remember that there are 2 Plaintiffs (Mrs. COLE, and Mrs. KAISER-COLE). And that Mrs. Cole (older) signed up in Rake’s pyramid scheme first, and then she signed her daughter in-law up (younger). Rake’s Pyramid Scheme begins:

So, Rake and Larson pressured COLE to sign her daughter in-law up for Life Insurance which was supposedly 90% liquid, with high returns. Turns out it was a sham… Hm…

He promised her that she could access 90% of the money at any time, when no such liquidity was available” … “removed [plaintiff’s] money from a safe and secure investment and placed it in a high cost insurance product…so that he could get a larger commission… Let’s continue, shall we?
