I was working on a report when they locked up my computer. A message appeared on the screen. Told me I had 5 minutes to respond-click on the "help" button. Once I did, I was routed to another screen. Ended up speaking to a "technician."  He said that my computer (firewall) had been breached. He showed me all my accounts, passwords, etc. Long story short, I was on the phone for 2 hours. Routed to another "supervisor." Said it would cost me $3,200 for a lifetime security package. Like an idiot I paid it.

Oxon Soft Technology Locked up my computer. Infected it. Sold me a "security" package. Came back months later with a "refund" plan

AUTHOR: Cynthia - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 05, 2021

So "Alex" contacted me today. Seems like they were going to give me a "refund" for the "security" package ($3,299.99) that they had previously suckered me into buying. Ok. So about 2 hours later, after I have been transferred around I'm talking to "Luis'" and he's walking me through the refund process. They are putting the $ back into the account. They keep having glitches with the internet...it's running super slow. He advises me when a certain screen comes up that I am supposed to input the amount 3,300 (rounding up a penny). I do that. The screen goes black. Then it comes back up with the message to enter the amount.

I ask him about that. He says it must be because of the slowness of the system. I should enter the amount again. I do. Then I am told to check my credit card account. Well, lo and behold, the refund amount is doubled. Luis is freaking. He's going to lose his job, etc.... The only way to remedy this is for me to go to Walmart or Best Buy and purchase some gift cards for the $3,300 overpayment. I tell him I am not comfortable doing that. He starts getting rather irritated. I told him if they were able to put the $ into my account then they should be able to take it out. He kept on about how it was my fault. That I was trying to steal from them...I hung up.

He called me on his phone (number 501-292-3813). He said that I might have closed my computer but he could see me. I was standing at my table wearing a dress and he could see my knickers. Fat chance buddy. I was in the kitchen feeding the cat and wearing a T-shirt and shorts. Then they locked my computer up. A message came across the screen that I was to call a number that was posted (and pay) in order to unlock my computer. It's a basic ransom situation. I found out later (at the bank) that what these guys actually did was a cash advance on two of my credit cards. So it was actually my money they were using the entire time! Pretty slick. THESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS. BEWARE!! Do not give them access to your computer!
