Rate Expiring

AUTHOR: Mortgage Pro - (United States of America)

To resolve this issue from happening again, RESPA has enforced some guidlines. Buyers will now get a GFE that reflects a locked interest rate if locked and the number of days left for the lock to expire.

Buyers have always had the option to extend rate locks but at a cost of course. I wonder if the buyer was ever given the option to extend their rate or if they were even shown the rate lock confirmation......

There is a solution

I would just like to say there are a lot of happy customers that have done purchases and refinances with our company.  At the time that this file was clearing underwriting, rates had changed and  expired.  The customer was offered to close at a higher rate at that time or wait till the market came back around to get the rate they were originally looking for.  At that time the customer became angry and said they were getting an attorney.  Customer has been left several messages via e-mail and phone to notify them rates had come back around where we originally started and they were offered concessions to rectify a bad situation.  If they are willing to be patient and are interested in resolving this, we would like to help.
