Sales and Marketing Group, Inc. deals extensively with outsource sales, marketing and advertising projects. Their clientele include companies such as Verizon and AT&T, as well as several energy corporations. In addition, they also deal in brand management and event planning.

SMGI begins their sales process by first contacting the key decision maker. For example, if their client were an apartment complex, they would contact the property manager or leasing agent. From there, they plan an event in which they pre-market, host, and follow up in order to close the sale.

When dealing with a complaint, SMGI provides 24 hour customer service and promises a one week turnaround.

During the course of the onsite interview, Mr. Koontz described an instance when a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received: “A client claimed he did not get all the services that was described when they signed up for cable service. I gave the customer back their money for that time period and he was satisfied with the results.”

When addressing the complaints that were made by former employees about not receiving proper payment for work, Mr. Koontz said that in order to resolve these issues: “[Employees] were paid out commission whether [they] were owed or not.” He went on to say that: “Service is number one and this is communicated to our clients during the first sentence that a sales person speaks.”

In order to reduce complaints against SMGI, Mr. Koontz explains that: “[The company has] taken on the attitude that if someone brings up a claim, it must have some validity to it.” In addition, they are more focused on the relationships they form with their employees, knowing that disgruntled workers are more likely to make complaints upon leaving the company.

When asked what SMGI’s relationship with CXN looked like, Mr. Koontz stated: “On paper none. They are out of business. 6 people from CXN work for SMGI.”

SMGI is very appreciative to be a part of the Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Consumer Satisfaction Program. They believe it will give customers a true picture of their brand.

As a leader within SMGI, Mr. Koontz most often advises employees on how to make their clients happy. When asked how he provides this guidance, he explained: “If there is a complaint, we figure out what it is. We conduct internal audits and follow up with compliant. In addition, we aim to create policies that will eliminate the problems for good.”

SMGI Philadelphia ,Formerly CXN PHILADELPHIA, Worked 50 hours a week for an entire month earned a total of $300 Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania

Before I get started please realize SMGI Philadelphia is what used to be CXN Philadelphia, it has the same players, at the same EXACT address doing the SAME exact type of scam/work, they even go to the same pubs for "office night". They most likely changed their name due to the words scam and rip-off appearing after CXN Inc, when you google search the company.
I am not a bitter employee who was fired, I was just a kid out college looking for a temporary full time job until I could get a job in law enforcement, which I am now...So there is no axe to grind here, it's just me being a good citizen, and hoping to prevent what happened to me, to happen others. I put the pieces together while doing filling out my background check section in my  PDQ booklet for my current job, it is unacceptable to write "closed down", I had to find out what happened to the company - that's how I figured out they went from CXN to SMGI

My Story: I was out of college in 2010, needed a job they were hard to find so I turned to the job sites, and came across "looking for sports minded individual" I though GREAT! that's me! I played sports growing up it's perfect...They were one of the few to call me back out of the jobs I applied for, so I took that interview ASAP. During the interview they wouldn't give me great detail on pay or even what I'd be doing, but they told me to come back for a trial day, normally you'd think that would be a red flasher No detail in pay? What's that about? but I was jobless and desperate... turns out it's door to door sales, I still thought, screw it I am desperate and they said I could make $500 a week. You cant make that, not even close, they will tell you it is because you are not trying hard enough, that is bull- NO ONE BUYS THINGS DOOR TO DOOR! This isnt the 1950's we all have internet now! The job is 100% commission, plus you have to take YOUR car YOUR gas money and cart around anyone who does not have a car...

None of this will be told to you - what they do is prey on your desperate need for a job, and competitive nature, they make you think YOU're the problem, so that you will continually keep trying..They do "team building" to keep morale up in essence distract your from what is obvious...you are being paid way under minimum wage to spread information on Verizon's products ...I worked there exactly a month and made a total of $300..That comes out to two dollars an hour. The only people in my opinion who actually made sales were the ones who lied to old people or stay at home mom's who really had no clue what they were getting. From the opinion of somone who worked there, What this job was, is a Pyramid scam,. When I quit they told me, "I hope ya find a better opportunity than this, but it's going to be tough..I was doing what youre doing just a year ago and now look at me.." Well if they read this id like to inform them I make very good money, no I am no Millionaire like they claimed they were, but I have a house, a nice car, a job with benefits and vacation time... None of which would have been possible at CXN so if you are just out of college and you are applying to a s**t job like that and making $2 an hour...Leave it right away, do not let them brain wash you into thinking it gets better...IT DONT...UNTIL YOU LEAVE and look for a legit job, because despite what they say, door to door sales is not the gateway to being a CEO one day, youre just a pawn.
