I began working with Space Age 15 years ago, when I purchased a Harley Davidson at a local dealership. I went in to the tiny little credit union a few months later and opened accounts and a credit card.
Over time, I met (on the phone) the president of the credit Union, John Uchida, and he became my defacto banker. I bought several more Harleys and vehicles, culminating in a Platinum Escalade in 2020. Between business effects of the CHINA virus and business issues, that last 2 years had become difficult, but based upon the hundreds of calls and many transactions that I had with John Uchida, we always worked through it.
Then, about two months ago, while I was behind on my payments, John Uchida, and his "big" assistant, Trisa Magan, (who was always his gofer, or the one who did the paperwork on all of my deals, after he approved them) came up with a plan to catch up, including a April mid-month payment, then payments the next two months of the value to catch up on the past due amounts.
Then, while I was at a conference, in a hotel in Texas with my Escalade, John Uchida sent over the sleaziest company that has ever existed, to repossess my Escalade, in the middle of the night. To say that I was shocked, would be an understatement. For three days, I tried to contact John Uchida, but he ignored me for nearly a week. Then he cavalierly said that I could contact his "big" assistant, Trisa Magan, to work out the return of my vehicle.
The following morning, I received an email, that contained the letter that said that I could not catch up on payments, to get the vehicle back, I would have to pay off the vehicle in full. And not just the 6-figure price of the Escalade, buy my maxed-out credit card as well. So, I could only get my $80,000.00 Escalade back, if I paid $136,000.00.
This is an amazingly unfair option, designed to permanently deprive me of transportation. However, it did not work. I was driving a beautiful SUV the morning after the repossession... At this point, I am forced into filing bankruptcy, to mute the effect of the repossession, and make any unfair balance after the basically give away my Escalade at auction, and try to get me to pay the balance...
Good luck with that. I suppose since Uchida is from China, and I am an American, this is a form of retaliation... Otherwise, it makes no sense, after 15 years of a very positive relationship. This company is garbage, is run by a "Chinese national", and his goofball "big" assistant. There are many options out there, and they are all a better option than Space Age.

You should use caution when you comment on something you clearly know nothing about. You are just a coward keyboard warrior, who lives in mommy's basement, or in some trailer park. Keep hiding...
I was a client of this garbage credit union for 10 years, and in the end, it was a complete disaster. Same two individuals ran my various accounts and loans, and they made some very expensive mistakes.
Very happy to be clear of these morons. By the way, they have a 3.1 rating on Google, and 2.3 on Yelp. So, they are obviously terrible.

Its ALWAYS somebody else's fault, isn't it? Throw in some sort of ethnic reference and blame the lender when the cause is ABSOLUTELY CLEAR... it was YOU who caused the repo because it was YOU who faed to make YOUR payments on time. Isn't it such a shame....the big time money spender can't make their payments on time. My heart bleeds for you!
