The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Dr. Qazi & Dr. Sandeep during an onsite inspection held by a third-party verification company with no biases towards Windsor University School of Medicine.

Windsor University School of Medicine is a medical school on the island of San Kitts. Students have the option of completing their studies in the United States, San Kitts, or Jamaica. They do not offer online courses.

Leads for Windsor University School of Medicine are primarily obtained through their marketing team. This team targets college graduate in the United States and Canada. In order to be a part of the school future students must fill out an admissions form. Dr. Sandeep expressed the process once a student has been admitted to their school, "Once the admission happens, they go into the classes. Completing the basic sciences, then passing the US MLE examination, then doing the clinical rotations, then they graduate and get into residency. I primarily deal with clinical students in their 3rd and 4th years. People who are in the transition phases between basic science and clinical. Since we have established MBME conference in basic science and examination, they have to get a certain percentage on that before we let them take step one on that exam. At that point in time, people run into issues of not being able to meet the requirement, so they need more time. During that time, we guide them what they need to do so they can meet the basic percentage of 65% before we even let them sign up for step 1 exam."

During the on-site interview, Dr. Qazi and Dr. Sandeep were asked to describe a situation where a student was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Dr. Qazi expressed that their most common express for concern arises when students are dealing with issues outside of their realm of control. This extends to personal reasons, financial reasons, a death in the family, or personal health. Dr. Qazi expressed that when situations like this arise they take the students requests into consideration, " a student, for example, is asking for more than 6 months to write the USMLE exam. This student would normally speak with Dr. Sandeep...they would email him and ask for a letter explaining why they need the extension. That letter would give the reason as to why they need the extension...If need be Dr. Sandeep can ask for further information, if the student says they are sick, we would ask for the Doctors Note. Therefore, instead of 6 months, we can give them 9 months."

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Dr. Qazi and Dr. Sandeep address each comment stated that they believe them to be false. Dr. Qazi offered the following certifications and accreditations: World Health Organization, Education Commission For Foreign Medical Graduates, Medical Council of Canada.

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to making things right with the consumer per the request of Ripoff Report, Dr. Sandeep stated, "We have a new Academic Dean since Jan 2016. He has been very pivotal in organizing and creating different committees for the university. Making sure all the faculty need are met and student organizations are addressed properly. Under the new Dean, we are definitely moving in the right direction."

Windsor University School of Medicine is proud to be a part of Ripoff Reports Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program, "We went through all the articles on Ripoff Report, about 99% of it is just allegations. If a student has a legitimate complaint, our doors are always open. If a student has a complaint on the island, they email the student affairs and they deal with it right away. If a clinical student has an issue, they email Dr. Sandeep and he takes care of it. We do have a mechanism in place to take care of any complaints. We are always looking to improve."

" Our mission is to prepare highly dedicated, compassionate, and competent students to become effective, socially responsible, successful resident applicants in order to practice medicine in their country of origin.

Over the past years, our faculty has worked with various student committees to update and improve our instruction. A continuous focus on change can be linked to the trends in medicine such as new technology, new research and the changing health care needs of our society.

Students must be prepared to deal with all the competing forces of a rapidly changing health care system, and demonstrate the qualities of professionalism during medical school and throughout their careers. It must be clear that we are committed to the best outcome for the patient. Each student must be constantly on guard to protect, defend, and be an advocate for patients. To accomplish this you must be diligent in your studies to acquire and extend your medical knowledge.

Our best wishes, Dr. Brijinder K. Gupta

Windsor University School of Medicine’s policy has always been to be transparent with all the students at all times. Current students write their exams online and are given their marks immediately. In the past, however, the marks were given at the beginning of each semester, as students would fly out to their country of residence after their final exams. In order for each and every student to see their mark, they had to make sure that their financial accounts are up to date.

Windsor University will also reiterate that each and every student has/ had the right to check their exams and results. Any institution in the world would let you retake any failed exams at the fees associated with it.

Windsor University has never claimed to have acquired accreditation from CAAM – HP. We have applied in 2016 and waiting for a reply from CAAM-HP. Once we hear something, we will be publishing it on our website (

The final straw for me to leave the school was when I was told that I could not see my grades until after I paid for the next semester. The catch was, if I didn't pass both of my classes, I had to repeat the semester before. "Either way the tuition is the same." Yeah that's not the point... After 15 minutes of getting borderline hysterical, I find out my grades. All F's, go figure. How is this possible though, considering I had gotten an exact copy of the final that was worth 70% of my grade a week before finals (teachers are easily bribed at this school, I believe the school officials are actually the ones pocketing the money from the bribery, however). I aced that final because I, and a 1/4 of the class, had gotten it the week before. Some of us "passed" some of us "failed". They don't grade exams here, I'm not sure how exactly you pass at this school. It isn't by studying, showing up or cheating, it's pretty much just buying your way through 10 semesters. I was told I could "retake" the final for $1000 because they were going to make a special exception for me "just this once" lol. I couldn't see it though, as it had been "sent to the main office" in Monee Illinois conveniently. I could see it after the retake though, if I didn't pass the retake. I would have to pay an additional $50 for that. You get where I'm going with this?

I actually thought for a brief moment that they'd return my housing and book deposits after leaving. Yeah, Lol on that. I ended up having to get an attorney to get a transcript from them. Their main office in Monee claimed, "they had never had any contact with students and had no affiliation with Windsor other than consulting services." I just gave up. All F's, no money and 8 months of my life wasted.

Don't let these people exploit your dream of becoming a doctor! You can do it, just do it somewhere else!!

Why didn't I listen to the bad reviews?

MoreThis school is a scam. When you try to leave the scam, they won't send you your transcripts or your deposits. If you do take legal action or get an attorney, your transcript will say all F's so you have to start all over somewhere else. Try getting a copy of your will be charged $35-$50 and given a different version that doesn't match your scan-tron. "How unfortunate for you, now we must change your 60% to a should have been grateful!" You should have seen their old site when I went dorms, transportation, all this stuff that isn't true. They charged you $300 to $400 more a month for the hotel "dorms" they put you in, when you could have contracted with the hotel yourself and saved some $$$. Windsor announced that they had CAAM-HP approval, the approval needed to continue taking the US licensing examination past 2023, when they didn't. The CAAM-HP addressed this lie, which is what the school is, one giant lie. Windsor can't reapply for this approval for another 2 years. You must graduate by 2023, meaning that you must start in 2019. What you'll find is that it takes a year or more longer than the standard 4 years to complete the program at Windsor because there are not enough clinical spots to go around, so 2018 is more realistic.  Are you willing to risk coming here knowing that it will inevitably close once incoming students start dwindling and going to other Caribbean schools that are approved? It's your (or your parents) hard earned money and WUSM will be happy to waste it...spend it wisely and go somewhere else.

Very Similar Situation

AUTHOR: Cut my losses - (USA)

Wow, reading these reviews makes me feel a whole lot less dumb about falling for all their lies. The worst part is, there were a bunch of negative reviews on valuemd and chose to write them off as pissed off students that were angry it wasn't going to be an easy A. I have a bachelor's in Biology and did ok, a bit over a 3.0 but not by much. Graduated in 3.5 years, so I guess the work load was pretty heavy. I think I was prepared for graduate school, but instead of going to AUC like I should have, I didn't want to study for the MCAT because I wanted that MD ASAP. NO NO NO, if I could go back, I would have taken an extra 6 months to study so I had MCAT scores to go to AUC or St. George's (Avoid Ross and Saba if you're still looking at schools). Better yet, I could have possibly gotten in a D.O. program in the states, or dentistry, or pharmacy, but why did I go to Windsor? Me rushing, not wanting to go into a bunch of debt, wanting to graduate as soon as possible, only cost me a lot of money (way more than the site advertises) with a transcript that I had to fight for (I contacted the attorney general of Illinois for their Monee office-there are numerous complaints against them in Illinois-feel free to call if you don't believe me) and eventually they did send it but it's mostly useless as only 2 or 3 schools will take their credits. They changed my final semester grades to F's and I know for a fact that I passed both the classes as I too cheated. They claimed I got a 55% on the finals, both finals! Wow, exactly a 55% on both exams...what a coincidence *rolls eyes* I too could also not see my exams. I could only see them after I took the retakes for $1000 a piece. I asked what happened if I actually passed the finals they claimed I failed, after paying for the retake? NO REFUND!! The alternative was paying for the prior semester, again. Oh and I never got my deposits back, $800. They also act as a middleman for the "free" dorms. These dorms are not in anyway free or supplemented, they mark them up about $250 to $300 more a month than the hotel would have charged you if you went to Ross Veterinary School or UMHS. If you are a Windsor student, you must pay the extra $250-$300 or they will not rent to you. If you do end up going, and I urge you not to, do not let them know you are a Windsor Student. Kimbo will try to pick you up and "establish" you as a Windsor student to all the hotels. DON'T DO IT, go on your own. I cannot stress this enough, you will not save money going here. You will also not save time, you will be stuck studying for the step 1 for a year because you didn't even learn anything other than endless busy work and incoherent, never ending lectures. Literally attendance takes 50 minutes each day. 50 minutes!!! for all the classes combined. Just a waste of time, everything. The dorms are 20 to 30 minutes away from the school, so 1 hour of your day is traveling. Plus, there are not enough buses, so you must wait everyday for about 30 minutes, give or take. So 1 hour attendance, 1.5 hours just getting to and from school. The only kids that are happy here are Nigerian teenagers. If you have a bachelor's, or are semi-qualified to get into graduate school or are over 21, you will be thinking, "what have I done? why did I come here?" The most expensive life lesson I've ever learned! Don't fall for the lies because the USA and Canada cannot help you, just St. Kitts which rely on the universities for revenue. Any court battle you have, you will certainly lose. Also, word of advice, if I would have paid in credit card, I would have gotten all my money back. Pleeeeeaaassseee, if you plan on going and not listening to anyones advice, pay with credit card. Your credit card is the only thing that will protect you and help you get your money back provided it's in 60 days. It is worth the 5% fee they tack on for this, as you can prove their lies upon getting there and can dispute it. Also, I know classmates that are still waiting for rotations and have been for upwards of 3 months. This program will take 6 years at this pace!! See if you can make it out before the 2023 deadline for graduating from a non CAAM-HP approved school like Windsor. Windsor failed the last time it applied a year ago, and was told they could not reapply for another 3 years. Oh and Windsor was telling new applicants they were approved, one of their many lies. Thankfully, the CAAM-HP got wind of this and clarified that this was a LIE. If you do not graduate by 2023, you cannot sit for the step 2, which means no residency or practicing in the US, which is essential for Canadians as well as Americans. So all this school will have left are African students, who probably still want to go to the US to practice, at least initially.

Everything I have stated is correct, and easily searchable by google and valuemd with a bit of research, just trying to sum it up for everyone. I realize it is not written very clearly or smoothly!

To recap: This program will take much longer than your standard 4 years and will cost significantly more than you think. You will not save time or money by going here. You will be lucky if they don't close in a couple of years, which is what it's looking like with the lack of CAAM-HP approval. You'd be taking an enormous gamble applying here past 2017 (even now really, because class sizes are already shrinking and this is a business! a business that wants profit. No profit, no school. You really think they're going to send you a transcript if they close?? You can hardly get one now). All that hard work will be for nothing because you cannot practice. Please listen to this and apply to a school that is CAAM-HP approved!
