I had cosigned on a HSBC Yamaha Card approximately 6 years ago for someone. I have limited contact with that individual now.  I never knew that the card had gone 90 days past due until I was sent to collections by HSBC.

Shouldn't have HSBC tried to make contact with me before sending me to collections?  Now my wife and I are stuck paying this off so it doesn't affect our credit anymore.

I there anything I can do?
