Well I too am another victum of Jim Walter. I had my on land and decided to build a home from them. The promises they made were great. I have never been to lied to so much by even a politician and that is saying alot.

They told me when I purchased their home they would leave the trash in 3 seperate piles. It was all over the place. There were beer bottles, soda cans, thousands of roofing nails everywhere. There were shingles and you name it. Papers of all kinds. I complained on several occasions and I was told they did not clean up. I said I know it is my responsibility to clean up but it stated in my contract and also my handbook they would put the trash in 3 piles, It never happened.

My dining room was supposed to have 2 windows in it and it only had 1. I was not called for the framing inspection. When they called me the sheetrock was already on. So therefore I did not get to inspect the framing and then there was only one window, When I complained I was told that was the way they built that house now. I was told when I bought it that it had 2 windows. The floors were all uneven, there are cracks going up the stairs. The dining room window will not close all the way. It leaks around the back door. Nails were left up in my floors and walls.

The list goes on and on. I bought my on insureance and they keep sending me letters saying I owe them insureance money. My insureance company has called them several times and they say it is ok and then I will get 2 or 3 more letters in the mail. Then I get letters saying they do not have my account number for my insureance and I have mailed them 3 letters on that and I have called them twice. This was the biggest mistake I have ever made. No one will call me back when I call. No phone calls have been returned to me.

I was a fool for buying this house and I hope if you are reading this you will not buy anything from Jim Walter. I wish we could all get together and find a way to stop this from happening to other people. Please contact me and maybe we can all get together and get a lawyer to help us out. R7rbn7@aol.com Please pass this along to anyone you know who may have been a victum.
