I turned to the Orchard Bank credit card after my credit suffered due to 2 job losses. I was hoping to get my credit back on track.

The first incident was when I asked for a credit limit increase. They had no problem giving me a $100.00 increase then charged me $25.00 for it. Bottom line was I only received a $75.00 increase.

Then I was charged an overlimit fee when they assessed their $59.00 yearly charge and it put me over my limit. Then without any prior notice my percentage rate kept creeping up to over 30%.

The next incident was when I asked to have my account reviewed for a limit increase. (They advertise that they periodically review accounts for rate increases) I was told that due to my bad credit report they could not give me a credit line increase. My bad credit report is the reason I went with them to begin with and if they are going to use my credit report to determine an increase, I'll probably never get one.

Just as a note to everyoe else out there that has crossed paths with Orchard Band, I'd like to let you know that a lawyer has contacted me about filing a class action lawsuit against them and needless to say, I gave him the okay on my behalf.

One of few with good things to say about Orchard Bank

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 31, 2006

I'm glad for you that you were apparently one of the VERY few people who actually like Orchard Bank. The only thing I have a problem with is that you said you too have never received a credit line increase. This is false advertising on their behalf-they state right on their main advertisement for their card that they have periodic reviews for credit increases. Their lousy $300.00 credit limit isn't worth the aggravation.

I'm actually happy with Orchard Bank

AUTHOR: Nikki - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 31, 2006

About 5 years ago, we were going to declare bankruptcy and my hubby gave up his Orchard Bank card. After about four months, we decided not to pursue bankruptcy and called Orchard Bank to see if the card could be reinstated. They had us pay the card down to the original credit limit and reinstated the card.

I also have an Orchard Bank credit card now. I have never made a late payment, but did go over the limit ($2) last year when the yearly fee was posted. I called and they credited my over the limit fee due to my payment history. However, the girl I spoke with on the phone informed me that the statement the month before warned me they would be taking the yearly fee out of the next month. Every credit card charges an over the limit fee if you go over the limit due to the yearly fee. They believe it's your responsibility to know when your year is up.

Anyway, I just got my statement for December, due in January and sure enough it warns they will be taking out the yearly fee in the next statement.

Also, as for charging you for a credit limit increase, most "bad credit" credit cards are doing that. They make their money on these charges.

Even after 2.5 years of ontime payments, I have not been granted a limit increase due to my credit report which has bad stuff from 2003 and B4. Have made every payment on time with every creditor since 2004, but still cannot get a limit increase. I'm probably better off.

I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ORCHARD. THEY DEDUCTED $200 OUT OF MY CHECKING ACCOUNT

AUTHOR: William - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 29, 2006

HI. MY NAME IS WILLIAM, AND I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ORCHARD. THEY DEDUCTED $200 OUT OF MY CHECKING ACCOUNT WHEN I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO ACCOUNTS WITH THEM. I CONTACTED THEM 2 TIMES AND BOTH TIMES WERE TOLD BY THEM, THEY HAVE NO ACCOUNTS WITH ME, AND THEY DONT KNOW HOW THEY GOT MY MONEY. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO BE IN ON THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. NOT ONLY WOULD I BRING AN EVEN BETTER CASE AGAINST THEM, BUT THERE ARE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS LIKE MINE AGAINST THEM FOR STEALING MONEY.
