I financed a vehicle through carmax in Sept of 2007. Upon making payments every month, I wake up 2-19-08 to find my vehicle missing. They sent a repo man for it! At first they gave me the run around about no payments recieved from Dec- Jan. I provided proof about all payments made during that time. Then they stated that it seemed there was an Oct payment missing. Why not contact me and let me know this? There are two people registered on this vehicle and not one of us knew. Why wait so long? I pay over the amount of my note at times and it is sent every month.
So out of the blue they decide they are going to repo my car 5 months later, even though this was a simple error? They charged me the car note, plus an extra $385.00 for a tow fee, plus my feb payment ( $1360.18 ), or i was left with no vehicle and they stated they would auction it off, leaving me responsible for full payment and interest. Not to mention when i picked up the vehicle, I had to pay another $30.00 to the towing company! I am disgusted with this matter and can get no answers from carmax! I do not recommend this car company to anyone.

Somtimes bank's or finance companies take your car when ever they want, they abuse there power you don't know this person's situation they could had fallen on hardtimes, many reasons why people have fallen behind.
If people want to keep your car file for bankruptcy sure, you will have to keep it forever & wait 10 years before buying another one but the bank can repoe it if you have fallen on hardtimes.
Do this so the bank can't repoe your vehicle, don't listen to these morons on this website. People have fallen in hardtimes if they want to keep there vehicle file bankruptcy sure you will have to sacrifice everything else, like getting credit cards or other loans.
But before you do file bankruptcy, try other option's alway's communicate with your lender. Sometimes bank's do not communicate with you or to work thing's out they just take your vehicle regardless if you had good intentions for paying the payments.
These are bad bank's who practice in this corruption, if you have exhausted everything then file for bankruptcy this way you can keep your house or car.
Sometimes banks or finance companies love to screw people, & steal your car anyways this is wrong. But if you file for bankruptcy they cannot repoe your vehicle.

Carmax pays your bills?

Please pay your bills on time, and your car will not be repo'ed. It sounds like you missed your first payment; the first payment due date is on your finance contract (retail installment contract) and the first payment reminder notice. Yes there is an entire form dedicated to letting you know when your first payment is due. Also, on that finance contract, it stipulates on page two that the bank has the right to repo your car if you do not make your payments.

If people paided their bills then people wont lose their cars. Carmax has to answer the lender and if a customer doesnt pay their car payments then the lender will have to repo the car. Its the customer's fault and not Carmax. Pay your bills.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
No rip off by Carmax

Repossessions are done by the bank not the dealership in which you purchased the vehicle. If you do not pay your payments the banks repossess your car. So, this is no rip off by Carmax. You need to address the bank that financed your car.
