Forever 21 is obviously a cheap (monetary and value) store, which is perfect when shopping for fashion trends that go out of style in a week. However, when I purchased a necklace I did not expect it to break THAT NIGHT. But, it did.

When I went to the store to replace the faulty merchandise the manager, Suzy, refused because jewelry is final sale. I did not want my money back, I did not change my mind. I wanted the broken necklace replaced. When an item doesn't last past 24 hours that is the manufacturers fault, not mine.

The district manager has not returned the voice mails, the customer service rep, Lisa, said they won't do anything, and the corporate office must be run out of a basement, because their number doesn't work.

So what if the necklace was $7, I refuse to let some trashy place think they can get away with selling defective merchandise because they are covered by their return policy.

FOREVER ANOREXIC

MAYBE YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN JEWELRY.

I HAVE SOME BIG WOMEN IN MY FAMILY WHO GRIPE ABOUT THAT STORE CLAIMING IT IS ONLY FOR TEENAGERS AND ULTRA PETITES. NOW I FOUND OUT WHAT THEY WERE ALL GRIPING ABOUT BECAUSE OF YOUR POST. THANKS

ALL SALES FINAL MEANS NO REFUNDS.

MAYBE THAT IS WHY ITWAS FOR SALE, BECAUSE IT WAS BADLY MADE!.

Defective Merchandise?

You have to think from the company's point of view. If they let people get refunds or exchange broken jewelry, then what's stop dishonest people who go out and party like crazy, break their jewelry and rip their clothes and come back to get all new stuff, essentially for free? The company is then left with a bunch of stuff that they can't sell and must take a loss on all those items. Not a huge deal for a company as large as F21 if one or two people did it. But if one person does it, others will find out and get the same idea and it could spiral out of control.

Not saying that you purposely broke your necklace, but the company doesn't know that you didn't. You'd be surprised what some people try to get away with in these stores. I've seen people try to return bags of merchandise with no receipt, claiming they lost it. Who knows if they stole the clothes from another F21 store and are trying to get a free credit. I've seen people who figured out how to reattach the tags to the clothes and try to return the clothes that were obviously worn (and smell like B.O.) or clearly washed. I've even seen people grab stuff from in the same store and try to return it for a store credit and claim they "lost" the receipt.

People try to get away with some crazy things and that's why the store policy is the way that it is. It sucks, trust me, I completely agree with you on that. But that's what happens when certain people ruin the fun of shopping for other people.
