I purchased a disposal from Wal *Mart .com. It has been over 90 days from purchase before installation, so I can’t return it to the store. The disposal turns backwards. I am a plumber I have only had this happen one time before now.

I called customer service to have the disposal replaced. I was only given the choice of receiving a G.E. rebate for$109.00. My original purchase price was $109.00 the price is now $150.00.

Just give my money back or replace the disposal.

Why should I pay an additional $40.00 for a manufactures obvious defect?

G.E. expects me to make a G.E. (only) purchase. Then send proof of purchase and scan code by snail mail, then wait for a check.

I just wanted a replacement or my money back.

I reported my complaint to Ripoff reports.com.  The next day I called G.E.   I called G.E. at the same number that would not help the day before the posting.

The change in attitude was miraculous, amazing and almost disturbing after I said I had posted, with names included to Ripoff Reports.com

G.E. could not do enough to help.  G.E. all at once said they had found a “special warrantee” that included a home service visit and complete replacement at no charge to me.  G.E. immediately sent a replacement disposal, 2nd air to my home just in time for the service visit. The service visit completely remedied the problems I was concerned about.

The service person was pleasant and courteous.

I am now very happy with the results.

I believe G.E. is extremely concerned with postings to Ripoff reports.com

I made another call to customer service at G.E.  I talked to Jennifer about my dissatisfaction with G.E. and told her “congratulations they were now on rip off reports with the names of who I talked with.”

After being put on hold, I was told she did not know why I was not offered a replacement along with a service call.

Tomorrow is the service call…. We shall see.
