In the past I have had positive experiences with HP printers. The current is my third HP printer purchase. I finally got to upgrade the the Color Laserjet 2600N. I bought it less than a year ago and about a month ago noticed the red spectrum was not printing. To make a long story short, I did everything recommended in the HP tool box software, enlisted online troubleshooting. I received a response several days later to be informed a type of mirror must have failed, but to perform the following steps to determine if the cause is something else. I performed all of the steps, twice. I had been calling HP several times over the weeks of the trouble shooting process always too late or too early. They are open the same hours I commute and work. I did finally reach a person with a heavy accent and a script of answers to questions. I was transferred to a number that was, you got it, closed. I finally got up earlier this morning to reach them and was informed my printer was out of warranty in September, over two months earlier than the year since the purchase date. I was told it had not been registered and therefore the warranty date in their data base would probably show the release for purchase date. I distinctly remember registering the printer. Send a detailed copy of the receipt and we will update the data base and respond to your request. I am sorely disappointed in the customer service and the obvious decline in quality of HP products. As a loyal customer for over 15 years, they have not only lost my business but everyone in the office where I work. Word of mouth is the best advertising, and I will be happy to advertise for them. As for the printer, I have the receipt, I still have the box, I also know that by the time it is entered in their data base the warranty will not be honored as the year date is approaching soon. And from the reports I read prior to entering this one, it is obvious they will do everything in their power to keep from honoring their warranty and standing behind their product. So, I have not decided which I am going to do, but I will have it repaired and sell it or donate it to a charity and take a big fat tax deduction, (this printer was not cheap) so I never have to purchase another HP product again, not a cartridge, their paper or any product they are associated with. Their customer service is bad enough, but to outsource jobs to foriegn countries when so many US citizens are out of work is a clear sign they are addicts hooked on their bottom line rush and I refuse to feed their habit. As for the printers and plotter I talked the business into buying, they will have to be replaced, and I will do everything in my power to be certain they will not be HP products, nor will I ever purchase another HP product for any of the crew.
