Fax charges are way too high

It's not that Fedex/Kinko's is forcing people into using their WAY overpriced fax services, or not posting prices....the point is this service is WAY overpriced. The original report/reporter is correct...the pricing structure is ridiculous. I don't know how the company execs can sleep at night knowing they just charged someone $10 to send a fax that cost them $.003 for that one minute of their local monthly land-line cost. If you want to be fair regarding the 24-hour staffing, then charge more for someone to fax at 3am as opposed to noon. Otherwise, this subject belongs right where it is...FedEx/Kinkos is a RIP OFF when fax'ing locally because you are charging WAY WAY WAY too much!! Isn't that the whole definition of a rip off? Hello? Is this thing on?

post the fax charges for sending faxes
for example the following is based on store I work at (Los Angeles) area local calls (area 213,818,805,562,310,toll free numbers) we charge a $1.00 a page (kinko cover pages are free] long distance (anything out of the local area are $2.00 for the first page and 1.50 for every page after that, International calls are $6.00 for the first page and $3.50 per page after that.
when I help a customer I tell them the prices before I send the fax for them [some kinkos do have self-service faxes]
If you don't like it, buy your own fax/copy machine and quit bitching. Several months ago, someone shot up the local Kinko's almost hitting an employee inside at 1 AM. You can buy a fax machine for $50 give or take. Kinko's services people and their needs, Office Max sells merchandise and does the other as a sideline. If you don't like the price, go somewhere else.
I have never reached into a customers wallet and removed money, a customer is resposible to look at the prices before using the services.

You don't walk into a grocery store, fill your cart and then whine about the final price at the check-out do you? You are responsible for asking or checking the price of the item before you purchase it. Simple as that.
