american home shield Failure to Launch or the decline of service at ahs memphis Tennessee

We have been customers of AmericanHome Shield for at least 10 years and got adequate service when we lived in a larger community. We recently moved to a rural setting but continued using the company for the home warranty. They charged the same amount of money ($600/yr) and charged a service fee per call. Lately, they have not provided anyone  to service the contract and left it to us to find a professional to service the problem. After jumping through hoops we get our money less a SERVICE FEE, when they provided little if any service. This includes something as mundane as an electrician.  We have received a reimbursement check for the amount of the bill which paid out of pocket less the $75 fee. On the note with the check it says they are not responsible for the repair that was made.  A call to there customer service got us someone who did not listen to the problem, kept suggesting things we had no need to address and claimed they were not allowed to put anyone through to a supervisor much less corporate headquarters without a written request and then they MAY respond to us.   We would urge that unless they give in writing that they keep adequate service people on call for the contract that you are making then shop elsewhere.   An occaisional lack of service people is one thing but, to regularly and routinely fail to provide the contracted service should at least warrant a no service charge call if not a reduced annual charge for the contract.
