First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation Misleading money grabbing con artists - don't buy - pasadena California

This company is trying to sell the promise of 'peice of mind' to consumers regarding faulty home appliances when the reality is your premiums they collect go toward paying lawyers and teams of employees who have the responsibility of figuring out how to exclude any claim you'll ever make. 

I had a faulty component in my home pool equipment. I extensively read through all the fine print provided in my disclosure to ensure I wasn't making a claim against an already excluded part (btw there were already many exclusions). Nonetheless this part was not listed, nor was there all encompassing description that would have grouped it into an exclusion. So I went ahead and logged my claim. The 3rd party trademen came out to assess - he spent 2mins looking at the part while having a separate conversation on his cell phone and then left. 

I then get a call back stating my claim has been denied because it is grouped into an exclusion that was not printed in my insurance disclosure. I complained and then they had a sales rep call me, who sympathized and said she'd sort it out. She never got back to me, except only to try and sell me a renewal policy. 

Now the company is attempting to collect $60 from me for the trademen's visit. I am refusing to pay on the grounds that if this exclusion were clearly documented in their policy I would never have logged the claim in the first place. 

I continue to receive in the mail and marketing calls from this company messages attempting to scare me into purchasing a renwal on the policy. It really pisses me off and makes me sad that cash grabbing companies providing no economic value to the community like this one exist out there.
