I am being held liable, by CHASE BANK, for unauthorized charges. CHASE has implied that I've stolen & lied by accusing me of having made the charges. The message below, sent to chase as a secure email message, explains my situation with CHASE BANK, which is accusing me of theft and deception by refusing to accept the fact that charges made on my account that total $2100, including their multiple $34 overdraft fees, were intently made to steal money from the vendor (Last Call,) and CHASE bank as a consequence. I have every proof that any institution with integrity would want to have before they make such unthinkable accusation involving a customer of a decade or more, and a citizen who has never had any issues with laws, and have never received any citation for anything, including minor driving violation. My partner, who owns the account, is of the same level of the highest integrity. We will stop using CHASE BANK. I urge everyone who is considering becoming a customer with this institution to look elsewhere and never make he mistake of banking with CHASE BANK.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am contacting you to request an urgent update on claim: 214224567210001. I have called, emailed and submitted over 60 documents regarding my claim since January 15, 2016. It was determined as of 1/15/2016 that the charges were correct prior to my submission of all papers, emails, chat transcripts and other supporting documents. A representative from the Claim Department informed me, at the beginning of this week, that Chase would notify me of the result of the investigation, by the first of February, now that they have received the necessary documents, and my statement over the phone. I understood that the merchant: NM Last Call has claimed, despite me having requested that they wouldn't authorize any online purchases, that the unauthorized online purchases were intentionally made and received by the owner(s) of the debit card(s.) I have always done business with NM Last Call and have continued to place in-store orders for my retail business from the vendor. The result of Chase's investigation as of January 15, 2016 was, as I was told, based on the merchant's statement(s.) I am not only, surprised and offended, but also appalled that the Customer Claim Dept.

at Chase would base their initial decision on a mere statement without having obtained any evidence or proof that the statement given by the vendor, who has made an irresponsible and extremely offensive accusation, is factual and true beyond any reasonable doubts. I clearly demanded from the vendor that it would deny any online order, after I had discovered that someone, with access to my account, whom I had suspected to be my next door's neighbor, had placed an online order, that I cancelled as soon as I found out. I also requested the return of the same order, before it was scheduled to be delivered, when I realized that it was placed again. I have submitted, my letters, emails and chat transcripts for my requests and communication with NM Last Call, and can provide phone records and more information.

I don't understand how I would be liable for those unauthorized charges, despite having done more than necessary to inform the vendor and Chase Bank within the same week of the incident. I am requesting a list of each and every charge that I am being made liable for, the evidence for the liability, the extent of the investigation(s,) and the response to my statement(s,) records, lists of every proof for every reported unauthorized charge that I have submitted in a timely manner and that cannot be, lawfully, denied or dismissed, unless I am being accused of a crime I have not committed. I, simply, should not be held responsible for fraudulent Desired Resolution: I expect and demand that CHASE BANK reverse the credit for all and every unauthorized charge, and refund every overdraft fee made since the first overdraft fee implicated in this case. I currently have an overdraft balance of close to $2500 due to the terrible treatment that I have received from CHASE BANK, and their accusation of theft, directly and or indirectly.

I didn't make the unauthorized charges and can prove that. They don't care about the fact that I am being victimized for someone who has used my bank without my authorization and unlawfully, and the extensive overdraft charges that their unlawful actions have caused, not to mention the inconvenience and the fact that I couldn't have or use my retirement account of close to $4900. I expect the refunds to be completed within a week so I don't have to pursue legal options that would be a lot more costly to this unfair and fraudulent institution: CHASE BANK. I would love to have my case exposed through he local and the national, as well as, international medial outlets and online avenues. I am a victim in this case and CHASE is guilty of a lot more than refusing to accept the proof that I have not made the authorized charges and have not received the merchandise that relate to those charges. I resent their low quality and u fair treatment and the emotional and financial distress that they have, purposely, caused me for reasons that they need to explain to millions and not just myself.

Another possibility...

You didn't state for sure if this was a credit card or a debit card, however since you said there had been overdraft fees caused by these purchases I'm going to assume it was a debit card.

I worked for another bank, so this information is from someone with some knowledge of the situation. In looking at card disputes one thing looked at is have you made legitimate purchases from this vendor before. The answer per your post is yes. Another thing is if the security digit (from the back of your card) was input for the purchases. They also look at was the PIN used for in person purchases. The card holder has an obligation to safeguard the card and the PIN & CCV. If a purchase is made with the PIN or CCV being used the bank is going to decide that the card holder approved of the purchases.

Something else you didn't mention is making a police report. If your card is used fraudulently you should contact the police and file a report. They may not do much toward investigating the claim but it does show that you take this seriously and are willing to press charges.

I hope this information helsp and I hope this works out for you.

Online orders.

What I feel you are dismissing is that YOUR proof is NOT proof. Im unsure as to how much knowledge YOU personally have on HOW internet orders are tracked. When you place a online order your ISPID is added to the meta data behind your order. They could be denying your claim of innocence BECAUSE the information on THEIR side shows that YOUR order came from YOUR computer. You can be as upset as you like. Odds are that its someone in your own home who placed the order and they are lying to you to avoid drama. I find that those people who CLAIM innocence tend to be the biggest criminals of all. THAT is what CHASE is seeing. The information YOU have provided isnt matching up with THEIR information so they deny YOUR claim of innocence. For all we know YOUR PARTNER tried to place these orders online and since it didnt APPEAR to go through they didnt say anything to you. Im not saying that is what has happend but there is a ton of data on the card that is needed to place online orders. So someone had to be at YOUR computer with YOUR card in hand to do this. If I were you I would be thinking long and hard about WHO has been in your home and had access to YOUR card. While YOU directly may not have placed the order, someone close to you that you trust COULD have. If CHASE can prove that YOUR computer placed the order then there is nothing that can be done.
