Beware! Beware! Beware of eHarmony!!!!


If you think that eHarmony is a 'Christian' company (just because it was founded by Dr. Neil Clark Warren, a 'theologian'), you need to think again. 'Doing unto others as they would have others to do unto them' is a galaxy away from how they set up their scheme to get your money. Dr. Warren is worth over $500 million and eHarmony does $180 million a year. I'm not against him or anyone getting rich, but, this is their business practice and how they do it.


Read this to understand how they do business. I know first hand because they did it to me.


eHarmony, a site that I've never used and know nothing about, dinged my bank account for $510. I have no recollection of ever signing up with this website and as I've said, I don't ever remember even visiting that website.


According to them, I signed up on some kind of 'Premium Membership' in which they set up to automatically renew after some time.


After some investigation, apparently, their scheme is to get a person on a cheap intro rate and then stick it to them by giving themselves permission to your money (your bank account) in the future. I can't imagine ever agreeing to such a thing, but then, I have no memory of doing it.


I never received emails from them so 'out of sight; out of mind'. I never gave them or any other 'dating website' a thought. They never sent me an email letting me know that they were about to ding my bank account. When I saw it, I was immediately positive that somehow I'd been hacked and scammed.


I sent them a message and requested that any 'service' that they think they had provided for me to be canceled immediately and my balance refunded. They refused. My bank likewise was unable to help me.


Something I learned about the Anti-Fraud Department of my bank. They really have zero power to protect you from online fraud. I've only had two incidents in which I legitimately had been defrauded and they were powerless to help me with either one.


As I said, I don't know how I could have avoided the eHarmony incident as I have no recollection of signing up with them much less to give them open access to my bank account in the future.


Beware! Beware! Beware of eHarmony!!!! I know nothing about their 'service', but I do know a lot about their business scheme. It is a scam at best.
