It's hard to believe this is even a legitimate business. It seems like more of a online scam. Set up a website that looks good and has all of the tools on it and all of the inventory, then take orders and just take the money and do nothing for as long as you can get away with it. That seems to be the method that Ben Peterson uses for his business. I placed an order for a guitar pick up and received nothing. All calls and e-mails went nowhere. I never heard a thing from him. Absolutely do not do business with this company at all. You will be ripped off!!

I've bought three guitars from them, and am a very happy customer. Always got a free guitar cable with every guitar. And the lowest price on the internet.
Did the person who complained look to see if the item was on backorder? I ordered one guitar from them that was on backorder (Plainly posted on the ad!) and had to wait a month and a half. But that was two weeks less than I was told, and as always, it came in perfect condition, and with a free guitar cable, for about 3/4 the price of other places. My other two guitars from there both arrived within a week of ordering. When the bridge lifted on a 12 string I ordered from them several months later, they helped me get a free replacement. Customer service was excellent. Personally, I love the place.

I was frightened by this report but encouraged by the positive reviews of the shop on Amazon (c)...so I went for it. They are slightly hard to get ahold of but they did respond to my email fairly quickly when I asked about the shipment timing. It also arrived in a reasonable amount of time (not lightening quick) and in great shape, quality product, great price. I just wanted to calm others who might see what I think is a misleading impression of the company.

The report left is false and contains information that is damaging and unture. The customer has apologized for the comments left and has admitted that he left the report in haste. Please take the time to read the customers response about the situation.
The customer ordered an item that was out of stock, got worried because it hadn't shipped and left this crazy report. We have never, and NEVER will rip anyone off in any way. All of our orders are authorized for payment upon ordering but are not charged until the item actually ships. Please email cservice@InstrumentAlley.com with any concerns you may have over this report.

I am currently trying to remove this report from this site due to the fact that I was mistaken in writing it. It was true that at the time I was having difficulty reaching Instrument Alley concerning an order I had placed but I regret that my temper got away from me and I jumped to obviously erroneous conclusions. Instrument Alley is not a scam. They did refund my money and I owe them an apology. I had been ripped off in the past and so I am obviously too touchy in this dept. I hope anybody reading this will disregard the above report as the hotheaded rantings of somebody who needed to learn a little patience and common decency. Again, my apologies to Ben Peterson and Instrument Alley for any harm I may have caused from this report. I am going to do everything in my power to remove this report from this website. Please don't allow my error in judgement to sway or cloud your own when making your decision. I was simply wrong. Sincerely,
Clay H.

This report falsely accuses Instrument Alley of taking money and not returning ANY phone calls or e-mails. Many purely online businesses don't have phone access anymore - tried calling any of your public utility companies lately? Try calling the gas or electric company and see if you get anything more than a phone menu of recorded messages.
Instrument Alley is a small, online business. Does it have the efficiency of Musicians Friend? No, but neither does Musicians Friend anymore. I spend thousands of dollars every year on online music gear. Musicians Friend took two months to send me my last order - and that was on a product the website listed as "in stock"!!!
I received a beautiful Johnson Guitar from Instrument Alley on Saturday. One of the tuners was defective. The guitar took nine days to get here and I didn't really want to wait to ship the guitar back and wait and wait for a replacement or repair. I just decided to replace the tuners with Grovers (way better anyway) - after all, I had already saved quite a bit - Instrument Alley was the cheapest delear selling this guitar. But I thought Instrument Alley should know about the defect. I e-mailed them this afternoon. When we got home from dinner tonight, they had e-mailed back, offering to send a replacement tuner TODAY!!!
This user may have had a legitimate problem, but please do not try to speak for all of us. Your experience is not my experience, so get off the gas on painting the negative picture so broadly.
This guitar was my first purchase from Instrument Alley, but I will continue to buy from them in the future.
