I spent the weekend reviewing flower delivery sites in order to have flowers delivered to my sister for a very specific day (which most people do).  It was MORE than important to me that these be delivered on this particular day.

I pulled up my order online to find out the status and all it said was "order received".  Not good.  This was at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon on the day it was supposed to be delivered.  I called 1-800-flowers.

After spending a great deal of time on hold, I was told they weren 't delivered.  The person I spoke to first said they had tried calling me.  They didn't.  Then he said, no, they found another florist.  "I see an email from that florist saying the delivery area was too far away".  NOBODY NOTIFIED ME.

Then he offered a cheap lily upgrade to the arrangement.  I said no--there was a reason I wanted them delivered on a particular day, the day after would be of no use to me.  I told him I wasn't out for anything free, I wanted to know what happened.  I asked to speak to a supervisor.  He put me on hold.  Again.

Came back and said he needed some more information before he could put me through to a supervisor.  He asked my name, which I gave him.  Again.  Then he asked who Lonnie was (his name is on the account, only because when I set it up I had his card--he's my husband).  I told him my husband and he wanted to speak to him.  I said he wasn't home, why did he need to speak to him.  Because they wouldn't give me a refund unless they could talk to him.  I told him I wanted to speak to a supervisor.  Again.

He kept telling me he needed to talk to Lonnie.  I kept repeating I would only speak to a supervisor.  I was put on hold.  Again.  I finally got a supervisor on the phone, who first tried to give me the same upgrade.  I told him I was not interest in anything for free, I only wanted my money back.  He offered to deliver it tomorrow.  I said no, I needed the delivery today for a very specific reason.

He finally got the hint that I wasn't out to try and get anything for free, that at this point all I wanted was my money back.  I did also ask why I wasn't at the very least contacted about the fact the order wasn't going to be delivered.  He told me the florist was too busy today.  Funny, the first guy told me they wouldn't deliver to the requested area.  So my take on this is, they totally screwed up and then couldn't even come clean about it.  NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM 1-800-FLOWERS.
